General / Re: Raspberry Pi Image for Pi 2 and Pi 3
« Last post by flexfulton on October 12, 2017, 07:40:35 AM »
I know it's a long shot but does anyone know how to get rid of the glGetError 0x500 that flashes up on the screen before every game is launched?  I know it has no effect on the functionality of attract mode but the error getting displayed is the only thing preventing me from having a completely clean set up with no text or anything pi related.

I have done this

12. How can I get rid of the terminal/console text I see when I launch a game or exit a game? Check out this post http://forum.attractmode.org/index.php?topic=1642.0.

However if I use the Retropie Script at all that screen will always flash up when launching a game until I do a reboot.

Any help, insight, tips or ways to get this cleaned up would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running the latest version, installed from scratch from the Retropie Experimental options.

Thank you!

ya this is working , for uppercase,
but.
it is dropping the magic tokin of  [!Players] at the end of it.

Code: [Select]
function title(){
  local text = fe.game_info(Info.Title );
  local text = fe.game_info(Info.Title );
  return text.toupper();
}
local title = fe.add_text("[!title] PLAYERS   [!Players] ", flx*0.185, fly*0.080, flw*0.300, flh*0.500 );
title.charsize = 47;
title.alpha = 255;
title.font="mad";
title.set_rgb( 255, 0, 0 );
title.align = Align.Left;
title.rotation = ( 90 );

//*********************************************************

function title(){
  local text = fe.game_info(Info.Title);
  return text.toupper();
}
local title = fe.add_text("[!title]", flx*0.185, fly*0.080, flw*0.300, flh*0.500 );
title.charsize = 47;
title.alpha = 255;
title.font="mad";
title.set_rgb( 255, 255, 0 );
title.align = Align.Left;
title.rotation = ( 90 );

Still nothing. Damn shame.

Anyway, someone asked what is missing. I still have issues with:

AM window not being activated after exiting a game (have to alt-tab)
Windows 10 taskbar showing up in full screen windowed
Background music endlessly skipping when exiting a game sometimes, forcing to skip to next track

The above problems make AM broken for every day "turn it on and play" use.

Other things I'd like to see:

Cross-platform Favorites list
More sub-menus and customize-able menu/sub-menu hierarchy (For example, "Main Menu -> Consoles -> NES")
On-screen letter selection for easier navigating
When user selects a game, the ability to bring them to a "Game Hub" (with game info, launch button, high score, etc.) instead of launching game directly from the game menu (see GameEx)

I am using windows 10 and do not have any of the issues you are experiencing. Create a thread with more details and we can try to help you out. Attractmode is not broken, and my machine looks more professional during boot than x86 production machines I've seen or heard about.

i know your bizzy dude, but could you please make a working example from this..
Code: [Select]
local l = fe.add_text("[Title]", flx*0.185, fly*0.080, flw*0.300, flh*0.500 );
it,s pretty obvious that this is a bit over our heads...,, then we could all learn something from you.

Try this:

Code: [Select]
function title(){
  local text = fe.game_info(Info.Title);
  return text.toupper();
}
local title = fe.add_text(„[!title]", flx*0.185, fly*0.080, flw*0.300, flh*0.500 );

General / attact mode on Ubuntu
« Last post by rolrod66 on October 11, 2017, 11:49:38 AM »
Need help trying to figure out what configuration screwed up or permission issue .....

So I install Attract Mode and retropi on my Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit OS. Once I click on the icon to start attract mode it works and see the Roms,videos, and art work. But for some reason once I try to start and ROM/game it just blinks and doesn't start the game...

So I open the terminal on the desktop and typed attract ... to start attract mode... but the odd think is  when I run a rom/game it works.... :o :o :o :o

Any help would be appreciated if you need to see some config files or permission please let me know.

After looking to the /dev/shm/runcommand.log
Here what I found if that help anyone with suggesting
