Themes / Re: Cosmo's Theme (v.1.1 uploaded!)
« Last post by Intellettuanale on December 08, 2017, 12:08:55 PM »
Very nice work!! I set these themes as default.
I even add some collections layouts for super mario, metal slug, final fantasy and zelda. Maybe are not perfect but if you'd like to try it, here's the link:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/j3eb6op48ld84rq/Collections.zip

Wheel's icons are from another theme. Unified theme I think.

Just one question: I've tried to copy some pointer icons in /home/pi/.attract/layouts/cosmo-favorites/pointers but the theme's menu option don't shows it. Do you know why?

Scripting / Re: KeyboardSearch module

That's one of the things on my list - I believe that's the issue I ran into, it was difficult to listen for arbitrary key presses. Think it has to use get_input_state and listen for all keyboard presses, so it might be possible just take a bit more work.

I have no issue using attract as a shell. Then again, I haven’t used XP in over a decade.

General / No sounds at first
« Last post by pocketpal on December 08, 2017, 06:20:03 AM »
I am running AM 2.3 as the shell in WinXP SP3.  When it boots, I don't get any sound effects in AM. Once I launch a game, the sounds work fine in that game, and upon exiting, sound works in AM, too.  If I exit the frontend and reopen it, sounds work from the start, which makes the issue appear to be related to the fact that AM is the shell.  It should be noted, however, that the espeak plugin works right from the beginning, even though the other sounds do not.  Thoughts?

Themes / Attract mode windows with FBA libretro core
« Last post by khaleelnajjar on December 08, 2017, 01:02:09 AM »
I'm 100% sure attract mode stopped working with the latest fba_libretro.dll core of retroarch, since I have tried everything with no use, and every other core works, including fba2012 core. Can anybody else check? or suggest a solution?

Scripting / How do I Shutdown PC without using a keyboard?
« Last post by erevans on December 07, 2017, 04:52:02 PM »
I've searched but I cannot find the answer I'm looking for.
I am trying to make a keyboardless setup on a PC running Linux.  (if instructions exist for Windows, I should have enough understanding how to modify a .bat file to a .sh file)
I have MAME working fine.
I have Attractmode with Nevato theme working fine.
I have Attractmode set to launch upon boot.
I have Attractmode set to shutdown the PC on exit.

What I am looking for is to have a shutdown command (and perhaps an exit command) directly in a display via a wheel entry (like in the attached image from a youtube screengrab of a Cabrio-FE build) so I can run keyboardless.
Can anyone offer some pointers?  Do I need to write a plugin?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Scripting / [Tool] Convert emulationstation xml gamelist to Attract Mode romlist
« Last post by IceLancer on December 07, 2017, 08:58:45 AM »
Hey there.
Previously i released
[Tool] Convert emulationstation/launchbox xml database "DESC" to Overview Attract
http://forum.attractmode.org/index.php?topic=1990.0
to convert description to overview in AM use

Today i release tool for converting  xml info to AM romlist.
Reason for this is because scraper
https://github.com/sselph/scraper/releases
really scrapes a lot of info when combined with fast scraper
https://forum.recalbox.com/topic/2594/batch-scrape-your-roms-on-your-pc-fastscraper

Anyway output example:
Code: [Select]
#Name;Title;Emulator;CloneOf;Year;Manufacturer;Category;Players;Rotation;Control;Status;DisplayCount;DisplayType;AltRomname;AltTitle;Extra;Buttons
ddonpach;DoDonPachi (International, Master Ver. 97/02/05);Cave;;1997;Cave (Atlus license);;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Before u use my tool make sure ur xml is in proper format and not broken!
Broken format example:
Code: [Select]
    <desc>
   </desc>
    <releasedate>
   </releasedate>
Or even Worse
Code: [Select]
   </desc>

   </releasedate>

Proper format:
Code: [Select]
    <desc></desc>
    <releasedate></releasedate>

scraper mentioned above will NEVER make such errors but Universal_XML_Scraper64 Absolutely WILL.
Do not use that to make ur xml's use above mentioned instead ,it can rip from more then just one place compared to XML64!

Anyway here is the script:

https://mega.nz/#!08Qx0YgQ!vRAEGTjVCSR0dCPavN7Z9n4siKq-xidNWKKDqEvPpqQ

python 2.7

Usage:
Copy gamelist.xml to folder where script is, run the script,preferably in dos box to see if any error pops up.

----------
After converting is done , open newly created my_text_file.txt with ur editor of choice, notepad++ will do just fine

and search replace all:
Code: [Select]
EMULATOR-REPLACE
with your emulator name , example:
Code: [Select]
MAME (Libretro)
(make sure u dont have regex enabled,just normal search and replace)

Last thing, depending on ur ROM PATH, u might get something like this:
Code: [Select]
./ddonpach;DoDonPachi (International, Master Ver.
u will need to get rid of that at start ./ and replace with nothing. empty nothing.NOT SPACE, just nothing.
or if ur path is different , get rid of it all before game rom name
example:
again and search replace all:
Code: [Select]
./
with nothing , example:
Code: [Select]

So end result will be:
Code: [Select]
ddonpach;DoDonPachi (International, Master Ver.

At the end rename my_text_file.txt to match ur emulator name, example: MAME (Libretro).txt
Copy that txt to your AM romlist and enjoy!

Have fun!
