Themes / Re: dim videos on Cools Theme
« on: September 12, 2019, 07:40:23 AM »
It works now, both ways, bg.alpha and bg_rgb. Silly me, there was another layout.nut file as a hidden file in another directory, I was editing the wrong one.

Thanks guys

Thank for the help my friends, but I did those changes and it didn't affect the image at all!
I'm attaching the layout.nut file for the corresponding theme, maybe there's another parameter I should change that I'm not sure.

The file is located in "/usr/share/attract/layouts/Cools"

Please remember I'm using GroovyArcade.
I had to chmod 777 the file to be able to modify it.

Thanks again!

Themes / dim videos on Cools Theme
« on: September 11, 2019, 08:59:48 AM »
I have groovyarcade with attract mode and this Cools theme that I love it. I was wondering if the'res a way to dim the video background, to lower the brightness so the logo has more protagonism. I've stripped the layout to show just the logo in the center of the screen and the background video is playing in the back, no flyers, no snaps, just that.

Is this possible?

Thanks

General / Re: Add Delay to exit button, help

What about pushing two buttons at the same time to exit.
thanks for your reply.
I have it know configured as you say, but I prefer the delay button method.
I see that there's no way to do this without extra software, maybe it can be added in the next release.

General / Add Delay to exit button, help
« on: April 25, 2019, 11:15:04 AM »
How can I add a delay to an exit button?
I'm setting up Attract Mode on a racing cabinet and I only have 3 buttons plus the analog controls to navigate through the front end.
I'm used to Maximus Arcade that it has this option to add a delay to any button, so for example, I should press a button for 3 seconds to exit the emulator and go back to the front end.

I can't find any info about this.
Any help would be appreciated!

UPDATE: I have fixed the SDAMax v1.1 layout.  It should work fine on a Pi3 or PC now (probably Mac too but I have no idea)...

All I had to do was change a fe.load_module command to a fe.do_nut command.  100% my fault for not completely understanding what was going on.

The new updated file is marked with an "f" (for fixed) and can be downloaded in the OP above or at this link:

Again,  my apologies guys!  I am learning...
It's working now, thank you!!

Make sure that the zip file expanded directly in to the folder...

IE: make sure that LAYOUT.NUT is in the "layouts/SDAMAX" folder  and there isn't an extra folder in there ala "layouts/SDAMAX/SDAMAX"

If you find that there is an extra SDAMAX folder in the original SDAMAX folder... just move it's contents up to the first SDAMAX folder.

Let me know if that helps.

I've checked the folders and they seem ok, I'm attaching a picture. Will keep researching. thanks!

General / how to exit model 2 emulator
« on: January 10, 2019, 07:57:06 PM »
Hi guys, I would like to know if there's a proper way to exit this Model 2 emulator.
I have to press ALT + F4 to exit it, but I want to do this only with a couple of buttons. I've used JoyToKey in the past, but I don't remember how to do this.
Also I want to use the ALT+F4 only for this emulator, because I have MAME too, and it's working fine.
I'm not sure if this is possible using just Attract Mode.

Something like this is what I need:

Press Button 1 + Button 2 (only in this emulator)---> exit Model 2 emulator (ALT + F4)

Thankss

Hi, I'm new to this forum, this is my first post.

I'm trying to use this theme SDMAX v1.1 with no success, not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've decompressed the .zip file to the 'layouts' folder and selected the theme inside attract mode menu. I can see that the theme is applied but with missing things like logos, marquees, text, and a huge font. I've attached a screenshot.
I'm new to attract mode, but I've used other front ends in the past (maximus, hyperspin, mala).

I would like to thank the creator of this great theme!
