I put together a PC to put in my arcade machine, started using Attractmode, and I ran into a problem with fonts in Attractmode for some reason.
In the main menu the text is turned into blocks, but if I enter another menu, like settings, the fonts displays correctly. I tried changing fonts and deleting my attract.cfg, but neither fixed the problem.
I saw another user, matthewj, had the same problem, but he didn't mention how he fixed it.

My PC Specs:
Windows XP Service Pack 3
CRT Emudriver drivers (for Groovymame)
So I was wondering if anyone here might know what could be causing this.

I have the exact same setup and the exact same problem. I'm going to try the new beta crt emudriver this weekend with a fresh install of windows 7 and see if that helps.

...Yep that fixed it. The font issue seems to be a problem with the older crtemudrivers. Upgrade to 2.0 and you're golden.
