Hi, you are right about this.. I got the background to show by adding this line to the layout.nut file underneath the fe.layout.height line:
fe.add_image( "bg.png", 0, 0, 1920, 1080 );

Other settings I might look into are in the first post of this thread.. I will look more indepth into this theme next time I get some free time.
