How to remove dupes

Noobie here so could do with a little help, Working on mame first so any help would be appreciated.

Oh boy..this comes up A LOT. I think there is a way to filter them but I am not that good with filtering for some reason. As in dupes you mean you have Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong, (but your roms are dkong, dkongoj, dkong1, ect.) I am guessing. Try these threads first...and maybe someone can help you better...I am not good at this part of AM sorry (I don't need to filter my list).

also remember to be able to filter at all you MUST have a catver.ini file and tell AM where it is!

Also to remove unwanted roms and other things you can use this program https://www.waste.org/~winkles/ROMLister/ make your list and make a bat (batch) file then you can rebuild your list after you have pulled the roms out the you don't want. I used Romlister and broke a 50GB mame set down to 10 GB then further to 8.9 by "hand cleaning". It should save you A LOT of work! If you need help PM me.
