This looks awesome!

Will this work with the PI or in verticle mode?

Was the Pi version ever released? I would love to use it!

if you're using english language file :
Code: [Select]
sudo nano /usr/local/share/attract/language/en.msg

add under '#Interface strings' this line:
Code: [Select]
Exit Attract-Mode?;Shut Down System

This worked, thank you very much.
I also noticed there was a pull request on github to add this as a feature:

This has been fixed in the newest version. Just recompile from source. Working fine now on my Pi.

Is there a quick way to edit a file with ssh or ftp to just add a single rom to an existing list? Or do I need to regenerate the list every time I want to add one.

For example, I added an entry in "/home/pi/.attract/romlists/Super Nintendo Entertainment System.txt"
I also added a wheel and snap art, but the entry is not being displayed.

Thanks again for all the help.

Is there a way to change the exit text on the Pi to say "Shut Down System" instead of "exit attract-mode?" I can not seem to find this file to edit it.

This file and folder does not exist on my Pi install. It's located at /usr/local/share/attract/language but it does not contain any similar lines to edit. do I need to create this file?

Thank you so much for this workaround. It is working great here.

Launch screen is now all clean. Also the GetErrorx500 thing is now gone as well! :)

Thank you very much for that reference. This is working and solved the issues.

Did anyone by chance figure this out? I know the motion blue Pi image had the command line text disabled somehow. I just updated attract mode from source and now the command line text is back. I cant seem to get rid of it.

Just curious if there has been any updates on the Pi version?

General / Attract Mode won't remember last ROM played.
« on: February 20, 2017, 03:56:03 PM »
Hello. I just updated to the latest commit as of today. Im on a Pi3. I did the update because attract mode would never remember what display wheel or ROM I last used. I would go into a system, and as soon as I backed out it would default back to the bottom of my display menu list.

The newest update seems to of fixed this, but it still won't remember my last played ROM for a system after I reboot. It's like each system's last played ROM is hard coded somewhere and I can't change it. Example: If I go into sega genesis, the last played ROM is always "rise of the robots" no matter what I do.

Thank you for any suggestions.
