it seems all the mames i get end up going i dont know i dontunderstand code

does anyone got a clean mame with nonag and hiscore around .191 that they can shoot my way or point to one?

i droped new files in old folder. i notice some small differences. at least in mine im having controller issues but i dont think it am doing it cuz i also updated my mame exe and i think thats my problem other then that i had  to resign my controls in am. oh wait.. i am having focus isues but not enugh to bitch to much... lol...

(here i go with some useless rambling)

ive noticed alot of program conflicts on here and thought i spew some words for those as new to this as me.

this is in no way to disrespect anyone or to say noone here knows what they aredoing. just some honesty and encouragement.

1st Attract Mode needs NO other front end to work
2ND MAME , GENS  , STELLA , DAPHNE , etc works great out the box (some configuring may be needed but minimal)
3rd Attract Mode just works! lol
4th if you are using multiple f.e's then you are gonna have conflicts.( its like having 2 people argue differant sides of same coin)
THEY WILL BUMP HEADS!
5th Attract Mode seems to accept alot of off brand themes and if it doesnt then you can convert it or im more then sure someone on here will gladlly help if they can! (does have a GREAT support system here!!!)

ok i get it alot of people like to tinker. but i know some of this can be pretty overwelming. especialy if your new at this like i am.
but im just putting out there that this frontend needs NO HELP IN WHAT IT DOES. ESPECIALLY on a pi.
this front end does TRULY have so much more potential . it can front end basiclly any program if you set the args. the right way.
any ways ...

i cant seem to get any other frontend to work properly myself and a.m just wrks... lol.. retroarch is cool and al on its own. i like the ps3 theme it uses but ya i had alot of issues with the cores but im also VERY new to this but many people seem to have success with 2 fe together but attractmode works best alone in my opinion ... but glad you got it going!

actually just copy your config files and put them in new build. worked for me. but...... you might have to remap a few buttons. i had to redo my player and coin buttons. the rest stayed

Try Groovy Arcade

The only reason I choose not to go with groovyarcade is because it’s not actively maintained and I had issues with networking not working. Since, there was been a single 2018 release from some one and perhaps its fixed? We need more people on the project to make it viable to switch from windows.

lol... key words , 'switch from windows.' im working on it though.. and ya groovy was updated and seems to run but i cant seem to get to any cnfg file or menu... idk. ill have to do some more research i guess........

Maybe your storage medium is failing. It may be a good idea to check it or look at its S.M.A.R.T. status.

Does the delay also happen if you start mame directly?

You could start AM and/or mame from the console to see more messages and maybe any errors.

actually i too think its failing. and ya in mame as well so im cloning it to an ssd.

My Acer Aspire One, with Lubuntu 16.04, starts directly in Attract-Mode (in silent mode, no messages). It's not complicated. And everything works fine, until PSX, but no more than that ... It's an old notebook ...

i would like to go as small as pozsible for an os. you think puppy linux would work?

RIGHT ON!!!! can this play in background while playing games by anychance?? id love tohelp with some layouts lmao... but i cant seem to get the editor to work for me.. but im totally in on this project!! this is whythe worlds need programers! the possabilities are endless... sorry but im a hardware guy. ive never been able to deal with code. so my hatsoff to all of you guys who make this fe the best!!

ya i tried it before with no luckbutilltry again. still would be nice to see an attract mode os. i have tried damn neer every front end and this is the only one i can get to work ... now if only i could speed up things it would be better... mame has been taking like 30 seconds some times to load games... dont understand why. usually works fine at first but starts to take forever to load rom.

im having aspect issues. but so far only in menu not game. im also noticing a glitch were my font dissapears and only dots appear but that was happening in last build as well.
