General / needing some serious help!

i dont know WTF but i cant seem to get any kind of distro to work but windows. i dont want windows i m trying to make a cabinet that is just for games and i dont know wtf im doing wrong... ive tried every one i could find . most are either very old abandoned or just garbage. groovyarcade was updated last year and comes with AM built in and thats what im wanting but it keeps giving me errors about my drive not available. something about allready partitioned... WTMF!?!? im no dummy but evidently except for this stuff.... can some one PLEASE help me out?? ive been dealing with the program side of this for over 2 weeks and im ready to smash this cab into pieces!!!

the cab is a custom build by me ... asus mb i3 8g ram (if this even matters)

groovyarcade is the last update may of 2017 x86_64

it does work just in live mode . it wont let me install to hdd. i get stuck at the partitioning part...

Horay for a Mac app too! I might get one just for everyday use. Kids wrecked my Mac trackpad and they expensive.

 be careful.... the app for it is a pos! but it is plug n play on all systems... supposedly it even works on xbox and ps. idk just saw a few docs in some forums about it.... but i do know you have to do some compatibility crap and what not to work the app... i just gave up and use it pnp.... works great out the box....

orbit trackball with scroll ring. yes it spins. and yes its a bit clunky but it does work veery well. and no it doesnt fall out. lol. looks are decieving...

Kensington trackball with scrollring works great for a trackball and spinner and was only 30 bucks. It does kinda jump but with some tweaking I got it so you don't really notice.  Tried it on tron and it did well. I'll update this when I get more info. I just got this today. Arknoid is next after the kiddy's go to bed!!! FINGERS CROSSED!!

Thanks for the replys guys. Sorry I haven't been on for a bit. Been building my cabinet and taking care of home issues. I'll try to post my cnfg file and how I have it set up asap. Again thanx for helping!!

Hopefully I can help with your dilemma You could always try retroarch, which includes the stella core for Atari 2600 and works just as well as the stand-alone program (Stella). If you decide to try retroarch, here is the emulator configuration I use, assuming you install your emulators in a folder named "emulators" within the attractmode directory, otherwise be sure to change these directory settings based on your own configuration

.bin    .  ive tried several atari emulators and just wont work. ive tried the -cart thing and copied other emulator configs and im just not getting it..... i got snes to work and mame just fine but atari2600 just aint having it..... the one guy said mame works with atari . i havent tried that yet. i need an atari bios though right??

sorry i am kinda new to this. im more a hardware guy then a software guy....lol

i can build a pc blindfolded but when it comes to programing or coding all the crap confuses the hell out of me lmao!!

if any one can please help out... ive tried stella and z26 and I cant get any of them to work. do I need a different emulator or am I just a retard?? as far as I know I'm setting it up right but hell if I know. sorry I'm very frustrated and want to smash my cabinet right now......

i gotta sayim SO impressed with this frontend. took me some time to figure it out but i finally got it. i just have a question to ask and its not intended to be mean or ill willed but....

i see alot of hyperspin stuff and i also see alot of talent on here.
so my question....
why are you guys WASTING your time on crap already done. OBVIOUSLY alot of you got some SERIOUS talent!!
so whynot do somthing ORIGINAL ??
look imean no harm and i know im gonna get crap for this but hell man
as an artist myself I just cant understand why you would WASTE your time on SOMEONE ELSES GARBAGE!!
again its just a curiosity question and if thats what you like cool nim just thinking with allthe knowing and talent yall have try somthing other then hyperspin.. imho its overdone by other frontend programs and i think yall could come up with somthing much cooler...
i do love this fe and i love the work i see here and love the talent so please dont anyone get unhinged by this.. im just saying and its only an opinion...

i couldnt do half the stuff some of you guys do and i think it all looks badass i just think the hyper thing is over done and would really love to see some origanle stuff!!! just saying...
