3DO and Jaguar are now up. Note: These were not screen capped live, so the box art is not in the sample pics, but will appear to the lower right of the TV like the other themes.

Another update to some themes, this time handheld. This are modifications along with new handhelds from modjo from this thread,
http://forum.attractmode.org/index.php?topic=1336.0

He had created and released a Game Gear and Gameboy theme inspired by the Olroom themes but for handhelds. Excellent work from modjo.

I wanted to add some more using this theme. So now we have in total, Game Gear and Gameboy (in the thread above), along with my additions of Atari Lynx,
Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color and Neo Geo Pocket Color.

I have packaged up the 4 I modified. The other two are linked from modjo's thread above. This package also includes all my versions of Olroom.

Thanx to the release of the PSD from Spinelli I have been tinkering with existing themes. Some are just minor changes but the larger Sony Wega is the main update. I believe it was RetroKenesis that used a Wega as well, but I wanted to go a bit bigger. On some themes I added a couple little objects (statues, cartridges). The Atari 2600 was unmodified but added to the package, this was created by Nismo, excellent work!

I am pretty happy with the result. My Photoshop skills are amatuer at best, so things like reflections and shadows are iffy. Not on par with Spinelli by any means.

If these are of interest to anyone I can package them up and make then available, with the layout.nut

EDIT:

Download all my variants from the link below, post:

Again, awesome work. I just added the updated GG to my build as well as the GB theme. The addition of game cartridges is a nice touch.

Can't wait to see what other handhelds are next!

Cheers!

This looks great! I have changed my GG section to this one.

I do have one question through; is your wheel conveyor using an embedded transparency (like permanently photoshopped in) ?

I noticed in the layout.nut that the  "conveyor_bg.bg_alpha = 5;" won't go full transparent if I change it zero. If I change it to a higher value, like 255 it goes full black as expected, but I can't get it to go completely clear or even a lighter tint than the set value of 5. It's almost like the actual conveyor was changed in photoshop (or whatever) to an actual layer.

For my themes I prefer to do away with the tinted conveyor altogether, hoping this one can be removed as well.

Beyond that I love this theme and hope to see more handhelds. I still need some for GB, GBC, NGPC and Lynx.

Push Tab or whatever you set your controller shortcut to and then go to Displays. Locate the emulator in question in the list and there will be an option to remove them.

I am having the exact same problem.
4.1.8 Retropie, Attract mode build 2.2 - Raspberry Pi 3

I gave up for now and rebuilt mine with 4.1.3 + 2.2.0 - Once somebody gets it sorted out I'll update again.

On an unrelated note, I want to image my build so I have it backed up, but noticed with some images I tested they wouldn't fit on some of my SD cards, even though they were imaged for 32gb, 64gb etc. Is there way to make the image just a little smaller so I know it will be writable should I need to restore it? Would hate to run into it telling me me card is too small by just a little.

Have you tried Configure-->General-->Window Mode = Fullscreen Mode

I did, it's actually my default setting. That being said I also tried the other modes, but they all freeze instantly on game selection. I decided to start over on a new SD, updating RP to 4.1.8 and AM to 2.2.0. I made no changes at all and simply added just one rom to the FBA folder, and same issue....

Perhaps 4.1.8+ in combination with 2.2.0 is an issue? Anyone else have this setup?

Edit: Tested 4.1.3 + 2.2.0 - no issues with freezing.

This is required to use the runcommand.

General / Arcade / FBA causing Attract mode to lock up - help!

Noob help!

I have put together an almost perfect setup with Attract mode, except for one issue I cannot get past.

So far everything works (the ataris, the nintys, the segas, psx,  etc etc), the one I cannot get to work is Arcade / FBA.

Retropie 4.1.6 with latest Floobs.

I first attempted to create an Arcade emulator section, all of which point to my arcade roms folder. It generated the rom list just fine, the snaps/wheels all work. However, the moment I select a game to play Attract mode freezes and I have to hard boot.

executable           /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh
args                 0 _SYS_ arcade "[romfilename]"
rompath              /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade
romext               .zip
system               Arcade
info_source          thegamesdb.net
import_extras
artwork    flyer
artwork    marquee
artwork    snap            /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/snap
artwork    wheel           /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/wheel

I used Floobs already created FBA emulator with no changes, freezes

executable           /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh
args                 0 _SYS_ fba "[romfilename]"
rompath              /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba
romext               .zip;.fba
system               Arcade
info_source          thegamesdb.net
import_extras        /home/pi/.attract/mame-config
artwork    flyer           /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/flyer
artwork    marquee         /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/marquee
artwork    snap            /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/snap
artwork    wheel           /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/wheel

I modifed the FBA emulator to use the Arcade roms folder I had created instead, also pointing to the Arcade snap/wheel folders. Again, roms show up, snaps and wheels look great, but freezes on game selection. IT freezes instantly as well, I don't even get the the "press A bla bla" after you launch a game.

executable           /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh
args                 0 _SYS_ fba "[romfilename]"
rompath              /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade
romext               .zip;.fba
system               Arcade
info_source          thegamesdb.net
import_extras
artwork    flyer
artwork    marquee
artwork    snap            /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/snap
artwork    wheel           /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/wheel

If i load Arcade games under Emulation Station the games work, no issues....

I am at a loss here....any ideas?

Let me know what else I can copy and paste from my configs if it helps.

EDIT: Hmm, noticed it also freezes when I attempt to access RetroPie setup from the AM setup screen. This is not an issue under ES. I have no idea whats going on.

Thanks!
