everyone-
If you've already set the hide console to yes in your attract.cfg try using a different exit command for AM than what the emulator is using. For example, if your emulator is using esc try mapping a different button in AM for exiting to the desktop. This has been working for me with hide console set to true.

'True' or 'Yes'?
All the other responses appear to be yes/no.

Anyway, Still getting a frozen image/black screen upon exiting a game.
My OS is win7 32

Just to be clear...  I'm old school, so yes means true.  :)

hide_console   yes

Here are a few things to try using v2.1.0 on win10:

Make sure window mode is set to fill screen the default
In attract.cfg, find hide_console and change to yes
Make sure there are no windows apps running in the background. Go to settings/privacy/background apps and turn everything off. You can also check this link out: http://www.howtogeek.com/241752/how-to-stop-windows-10-apps-from-running-in-the-background/

I was having some focus issues with Win10x64 and AM2.1, but all problems seemed to go away with the new setting in attract.cfg file (hide_console change to yes)
.  Thanks devs, love this front end.
