I'm one of the visual pinball table authors.  So i build the vp tables.
Had a virtual pincab but to to space had to sell it.

I pretty much am using rocket launcher because i had a fully functional hyperspin setup that used rocket launcher.
It's nice because it does the neat loading screens and bezels and what not.

But hyperspin runs so slow on my htpc.
Attract mode is lightning fast so i want to switch over.

Ricket launcher is nice also because there is no emulator configs really,  just point attract mode to rocket launcher and it handles everything.
And i already have all my romlists i just need to convert them from hyperspin xml to attract mode

Lol.
Needed a break from vp so I'm switching my hyperspin setup to attract mode.

I'll be making tables again as soon as i get all my sysystems up and running on the htpc

Do any of you guys use rocket launcher?

I have about 5tb worth of emulators, games and media.  The switch to attract mode hasn't been to bad but taking some time to get everything looking and working like i want it to.

Just wondering if any pc users are here.
All i really see are raspberry pi topics.
I started using attract mode on a pi inside a bartop.
Now converting my htpc from hyperspin/rocketlauncher to attract mode/rocketlauncher.

Mostly curious cause id like to find some layouts for systems not available on the pi like wii wiiu, ps2, gamecube......
I'll be making some shortly.
Thought about sharing them but wasn't sure if there was any demand for this due to the lack of windows pc users

Ok so i understand how to get rid of clones.

My question is how to get rid of duplicate roms using the filters

An example,  my mame rom set has maybe 5 or so different rom revisions for 1943.
Id like for only one to show in my mame rom list.

I'd prefer to use the filters and not delete the roms.
I'd also not want to manually edit my rom list

Any help is appreciated

Thanks guys.  Figured it out.
Copied my whole hyperspin media folder to the layouts section now its picking up my myperspin main menu themes.

About a quarter of the way through adding romlists and making displays and emulators.
65000 games,  this is a lot of work.  Even using some of the hyperspin themes it runs 10 times faster than hyperspin

That is helpful.
But I'm really looking more for something like hyperspin.  Where the main display lists all the systems and when you select one it takes you to that system display.
I know it is possible,  i just need a little more in depth how to guide. As AM. Is all new to me and quite different from hyperspin.

Ok so i have a 5tb hyperspin setup.  Have transfered all my rom lists to AM and set up displays for all the systems.  I can't for the life of me figure out how to set up a system selection menu.

Is there an idiot proof step by step guide for doing this?

Any information or help with this is much appreciated.

General / Some help

Attract mode noob here.

Ok so i have a bartop machine powered by a raspberry pi.  It is all setup and functioning.  It looks great with the hyperpie image.

Now i have an htpc in my living room running windows.  It has a fully setup hyperspin with roms and emulators and art.  Hyperspin is so laggy i thought i would switch to attract mode,  since it is so lightweight.

Now my question is,  can i take the images, display l configs,  and layout configs from the hyperpie and use them in the windows machine?
Also,  is the directory structure the same between the raspberry pi version of attract mode and the windows version?

I guess I'll ask later about using my hyperspin themes for games after i do some more reading on the forums.

Any information is greatly appreciated
