For people who don't like using filters, I've generated a mame (latest) romlist that has been filtered on a complete minted wheel set with some extras added in. Clones and the typical crap has been filtered out as well. This means you don't need to use any filter rules to have a clean romlist. This also takes care of empty or generic wheel art. Updated nplayers and catver also included. There should be about 2600+ games in your romlist.
I do have a global filter as a secondary line of defense but it shouldn't be needed.
global_filter
rule CloneOf not_equals .*
rule Year not_contains ?

This is great. But what do I do with the file? Do I rename it to gamelist.xml and drop it in the root of the roms folder?

@pghretroguy
depending on your installation & config, just copy it to:
on windows : C:\attract\romlists
on linux : /home/your_username/.attract/romlists
or use attract command-line to import romlist file (http://attractmode.org/docs/Readme.html)

Thanks!! Really cool and useful! 8) If I want to edit it, I can just do it with the Notepad, isnt it? Is there any special requirements?
P.S.: I would pin this post because the list is the perfect way to get rid in 2 minutes from a annoying long list!!!

@BlackDal
thats correct. just edit with your prefered editor (like notepad, notepad++ and so on)

Which version of МАМЕ use for this list?
