Assigning the Config / Escape key to a button
« on: February 06, 2020, 12:26:19 PM »
I seem to be missing something here.  I have a cheap windows PC with Ubuntu installed with Attaract / MAME.  I built a cabinet and used the x-arcade DYI controls kit.  Gameplay is fine.  On the keyboard TAB opens the config menu and ESC exits the game.

I configured two of my buttons for these keys so that when in normal operation (no key board) I can exit the game from my console.  The problem is that doesn't work.  I have to use the keyboard.  When I configure Attract the button down events trigger in the configuration menu so I know the buttons work.

Am I missing an Attract / MAME specific issue here?

I think I figured it out. I set the buttons in Mame also with Attract and now it works. 👍
