Scripting / Re: custom loading screen for every game.
« on: August 28, 2018, 10:51:46 AM »
did the changes and made the folders + png but I get black screen only :-\

edit:
Works now! (looks strange ... used a logo png and is stretched and no colour on the logo is all black)
Seems that copy/paste the line provided in this topic over the one in the *.nut file did the job..... weird...

I think he refers to the fact that RL would give a more console-ish feeling to a dedicated emu pc :)

Think I've solved the problem, ryuuji. It is working with your mame.cfg.
Should work with most setups now.
v1.3 on original post.

Now u got it ... works as it should

Scripting / [req] Retroarchievements integration
« on: August 22, 2018, 06:51:07 AM »
I think it would be cool to have Retroarchievements integrated into AM layouts.
For example in one of the corners (depending on the layout) to show which username u are logged in as + profile picture + total number of points.
And the more difficult one to have information from Retroarchievements per game ... for example show general info about completion like "xx%" and "Earned x of x achievements, x/xx points." and the ultimate it will be to show the actual archievements (those little images with name) on button press.

just thinking out loud

There seems to be a problem when you search for a exact game and there is only one entry in the search results ... the logo/snap are not updating (see pic)
searched for "cada" in my favs

Weird ... arcade is for mame... have u enabled scrape overviews in the scraper settings? I tried it myself once with mame and the generate romlist created the empty txt files so I assume that you need to select scrape artwork afterwards. I m not really sure

AM 2.4 selected AM path and the results:
attached the mame.cfg also

tried it today but it shows that I have only 4 roms (none of which are correct because they are on a different location: local disk(d) and they are not even mame roms or any roms at all). I do have a up to date mame set.

1st Attract Mode needs NO other front end to work
True but ppl use RetroArch because of the shaders.

ok i get it alot of people like to tinker. but i know some of this can be pretty overwelming. especialy if your new at this like i am.
but im just putting out there that this frontend needs NO HELP IN WHAT IT DOES. ESPECIALLY on a pi.
this front end does TRULY have so much more potential . it can front end basiclly any program if you set the args. the right way.
+1 to that
I also think that AM needs to have fewer layouts at this moment but with more features (like layout for displays which not many layouts have and layout(s) for settings/menu). Devil is in the details like they say. I think it will give a different feeling when you have everyting matching the current layout. I m not criticizing. I m very grateful for all the work the devs + layout makers are doing.
AM is the best anyway!

Add \ at the end of the rom path

Should be c:\retroarch\roms\
