Losing focus
« on: July 02, 2015, 08:32:52 AM »
Fe works great. Got it set up perfect except it loses focus after I exit a game. I hear it working and can control it but black screen until I alt tab. Maybe it's the dos window popping up at launch explaining what's going on. Help?

Under General settings,  what is window mode set to? Fill screen is the default and is preferred over full screen.

It's on fill screen. Never had the issue before. It's weird. I have people coming in a few hours and wanted the cab working. I exit a mame game and the screen goes black and I can still hear and move around in the FE but its all black until I alt tab to it. It's like the lil sis command prompt window that shows up is taking focus first. Any way to prevent it from showing that in a window at all?

I forced mame to 800x600 and changed desktop resolution to the same. Fixed.

That is odd. I seen this issue before with other frontends and the fix is what you did.

Now I added some filters and my list won't show game names again. Just file names. Just when I thought it was perfect.

dcninja-

Here is an example of how I use filters that you can use for a reference. This example has a lot of overkill but it's a good illustration on how to do apply different types of filters.

list   MAME
   layout               RetroPie
   romlist              mame
   global_filter
      rule                 CloneOf not_equals .*
      rule                 Title not_contains bootleg|Trivia|Quiz|Mahjong|Poker|Adult|Casino|Fruit
      rule                 Manufacturer not_equals Trivia|Quiz|Mahjong|Poker|Adult|Casino|Fruit
      rule                 Year not_contains ?
   filter               All
   filter               Favourites
      rule                 Favourite equals 1
   filter               Clean
rule                 Manufacturer not_contains Seta Kikaku, Ltd|Nichibutsu|Aristocrat|Dynax|Ainsworth|Amcoe
      rule                 Title not_contains GeGeGe
   filter               Capcom
      rule                 Manufacturer contains Capcom
