Another way to configure Mame's inputs controls?
« on: February 04, 2017, 01:03:08 AM »
Please excuse my noobness.

I recently got an image of Attract Mode but for some reason, in the in-game TAB menu, the UI menu controls and game input controls are set to a controller/joystick that isn't mine. Furthermore, standard keyboard bindings are not set. So, I cannot scroll through the menus to reconfigure them. All I can do is press TAB, ENTEE and a number of other keys, but not cursor arrows :(.

Is there a way to edit these elsewhere in my system?

I'm running latest Attract Mode on latest RetroPie on a Pi3.

Are you using a retroarch core or are you using advance mame?

You said you press TAB to get to the controls..that's how you get to advmame's settings. But you press this key after you load an arcade game right? (because this is how you also get to attract modes config menu as well) Setting up attract modes keys do not set any controllers for any emulators. For that you have to start emulation station and configure from there.
