Hello,
My first post on here and am desperate to try and resolve this issue as my Attract mode keeps freezing.
Raspberry Pi 3B+
Latest Attract mode
Audio through 3.5mm Jack to Lepy amp and speakers.
Using a Retropie Image from Regalad (latest 128GB)
5V 2.5A Power supply
Samsung EVO 128gb SD card
GPIO dual fan (definitely wired correctly)
Issue I am having is that I boot into attract mode and it will run ok for a little while, sometimes 30mins but then sometimes almost immediately, the audio will lock up and then it will freeze. While running a game the audio works fine. It is when I am scrolling through menus.
The image is running video snaps and I have tried using both 'software' and 'mmal' decoding and still have the same issue.
When it crashes I managed to screen shot the below error:
AL lib : ALCplaybackAlsa_mixerPROC: Wait timeout... buffer size too low?
It repeats this several times.
I have tried amending my buffer size but I don't know the right way to do this. Can someone please help and I will try my best to answer any questions about my setup I have.
Thanks

Did you try to update latest firmware?
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo rpi-update

I'll try this, but wouldn't a new image have the latest? Thanks for your reply.

I think you may follow my guide to fresh install :)

Is there not a way to just increase the buffer size than doing a fresh install?
