I'll have to look into it.  I actually was able to force 320x240 in windows through a custom user mode with vmmaker..  attractmode launched correctly in that resolution, but all of the fonts look compressed.

so, I fixed the horiz hold pot, and was able to stablize the image, however attract mode seems to be forcing the video mode into progressive, not interlaced.

Then, when I exit out of attract mode, windows is displaying the same:

I then have to force 640x480 interlaced and it straightens itself back out:

Any suggestions?

if I launch AttractMode from a super resolution, it loads but it squished.

However, if I launch it from 640x480, it appears as above.

GroovyMame is working perfectly using super resolutions.  Games all work.  I can also launch/run Launchbox/BigBox with no issues.

All,

I’m driving a crt (WG K7000) via crt_emudriver.  Windows is natively set to 640x480.  When I launch attract mode the screen is garbled.

Any suggestions?

SWEET.   I might grab the source and compile this myself if this doesn't get in a new build in the next day or so.  This issue had originally turned me off to Attract Mode, the crazy high CPU usage.   I've decided to come back because of the community and some themes designed for 240p.  If the CPU usage is under control, I'm all in.

Problem is, the desktop resolution is 480i, which is a little unstable and flickery on the RGB Modded CRT.  I'm hoping to find a way to drive AM at 240p, regardless of the desktop res (which is 480i).

Issue: As soon as I run AM, the CRT goes out of sync and I have to reboot:
Solution: from http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=155664.0
1 - Disable service: AMD External events utility
2 - Ensure that the Windows advanced display option is enable: "hide modes that is monitor cannot display"

General / Need Help: 240p Guide for AttractMode / GroovyMame on PC
« on: December 17, 2018, 10:41:57 AM »
All,

I've just finished RGB modding my 27" trinitron and getting GroovyMame up and running on my pc.  (I'm currently working on an in-depth guide for modding Sony TVs on the BA-5D chassis.  You can see that here: https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=63622&start=78)

I've decided on AttractMode for my frontend, but the majority of the info I've found getting AM to run on 240p is related to getting AM to work on the RaspberryPi over Composite.  I'd definitely want AM to run in 240p, not 480i, which is what crt_emudriver has windows run in.

I'd like to create a guide on setting up Attract Mode for 240p on PC, but I'm starting from scratch here.  Here's the primary info I'm looking for.  If anyone can help me fill in the blanks with anything specifically 240p related, I'd appreciate it.

General / Re: Best list manager for AM?

I'm trying to get a bit more granular than that, in that I am looking for a tool that could let me create a filtered list like that, but then do things like:
  • eliminate garbage i don't want
  • remove duplicates
  • sort / filter on popularity

General / Best list manager for AM?
« on: January 20, 2017, 07:02:49 AM »
All,

I'm geting to the point where I think I've decided on attract-mode as my frontend of choice.  However, I'm trying to come up with curated rom lists for systems so it's not so hard to get through the available roms to find something you want.  I'm looking for a good list manager.

  Can anyone recommend a good list-manager that's attract-mode compatible?

Thanks.

This theme is almost perfect, except for one thing.

Us real genesis fans know that's not the REAL Sega Genesis in that first picture. ;D

THIS is the real Sega Genesis:
