General / Need help with images
« on: August 07, 2015, 12:31:00 PM »
I've got everything working, AM is good, emulators are linked.  I'm having trouble with my layout images though.  On Windows it works fine.  On Linux, however, I can't get my PNGs to show up.  If I convert them to JPG they work, but I need transparency.

I'm attaching one of the layouts.  Could someone who knows more take a look and offer up some advice?

Thanks!

General / Linux install
« on: July 14, 2015, 01:12:30 PM »
I am feeling remarkably stupid.  Please help me.

I've been having issues with windows machines not liking to work with AM properly.  Decided to try a linux install instead.  Here's my problem...

I can't figure out, for the life of me, how to install AM.  I've got Debian up and running.  I DL'd the .deb package for AM and now have no idea what to do with it.  I'm used to using apt to install software from the repository, so am absolutely clueless here.

General / Skipping/stuttering

Not entirely sure how to describe the behavior.  I plugged AM 1.5.3 onto a windows laptop that I've gutted down to a bare mobo.  The emulators run great, full speed.  But AM itself is painfully slow.  I initially thought it was just being slow, but when I changed layout to AttractMan it looks like AM is processing full speed, but only updating the screen every 1/3 second or so.  The pacman jumps about 5-6 dots forward in regular chunks regardless of windowed or full screen mode.  Nothing else is running except bare windows services.

It is a direct copy/paste of the install from my test machine where it works just fine.

Any ideas?

General / AM on Pi
« on: July 07, 2015, 01:35:06 PM »
I've got the AM image installed on a Pi model B and it is working great.  My trouble is I'm not entirely sure what to do from here.  I've got my layouts, romlists, and emulators all setup on my windows machine.  I chose only emulators that have linux variants so I should be able to get them on the Pi, I just have no idea how to go about that.

Any advice?

General / ROMlist oddity
« on: June 24, 2015, 06:14:05 PM »
I am using Attract Mode in a retro console.  Everything is working great except for one oddity.  My NES ROMlist has something weird happening.  For some reason the title for 3-D Worldrunner will not display correctly.  Here's the snip from my romlist file.

Code: [Select]
#Name;Title;Emulator;CloneOf;Year;Manufacturer;Category;Players;Rotation;Control;Status;DisplayCount;DisplayType;AltRomname;AltTitle;Extra
10-Yard Fight (U) [!];10-Yard Fight;Fceux;;1985;Taito;Sports;2;;;;;;;;
1942 (JU) [!];1942;Fceux;;1986;Capcom;Shooter;2;;;;;;;;
1943 - The Battle of Midway (U) [!];1943: The Battle of Midway;Fceux;;1987;Capcom;Shooter;2;;;;;;;;
3-D Worldrunner(U) [!];3-D Worldrunner(U) [!];Fceux;;;;;;;;;;;;;
720 (U) [!];720 (U) [!];Fceux;;;;;;;;;;;;;
8 Eyes (U) [!];8 Eyes;Fceux;;1990;Taxan;Adventure;2;;;;;;;;
Abadox - The Deadly Inner War (U) [!];Abadox: The Deadly Inner War;Fceux;;1989;Natsume;Shooter;1;;;;;;;;
Addams Family, The (U) [!];The Addams Family;Fceux;;1992;Ocean;Adventure;1;;;;;;;Addams Family;

I've tried messing with the file and nothing really works.  Anybody see anything out of the ordinary?

Here's a screen grab showing what I'm getting from the above ROMlist file.
