Native 240p themes?
« on: June 06, 2021, 04:05:50 AM »
Hi all
Currently running a slightly modified version of the great flat blue theme in 480i on my GroovyMame PCs in my arcade cabs. However I'm looking for native and simple looking 240p themes ideally for both horizontal and vertical modes for both my cabs. Anyone have any suggestions? The slight shimmer on 480i is becoming distracting so would love for a couple of simple 240p/low res themes. Any help greatly recieved. Cheers

Well I won't say it's "simple" but Arcadeflow supports a "low resolution" mode that simplifies the UI (and there are many customization options), it also support both 4:3 and 3:4 aspects in a transparent way.

Great. Would my desktop need to be set to 240p or is there a menu option inside the arcade flow theme? Cheers

Reflect theme works well on 15kHz screens

If the screen resolution is low AF will enable the "low res" mode, but you can force it from the options. You can even set a different resolution for the layout with respect to the actual screen resolution. But if what you mean is if AF can change the resolution to actual 240p then no, it can't. Not sure if you can do this using some AM option.
