Title: Running windows .exe through shortcut attract mode

Hey there apologies for the simple question but im struggling here.
How do I get my generic windows games to boot through attract mode.
Ive tried a couple of old suggestions and I'll describe whats going on now.

.Lnk files are stored here D:\Windows games\Links

Executable : cmd
args : /c "[romfilename]"
rompaths:  D:\Windows games\Links
romextensions : .lnk

the error i get is the following
Error getting emulator info for launch
 ! Unexpectedly lost focus to: explorer.exe (17052)

I am not expert with AM and I currently use AM+, but this is how I have setup up an "emulator" to run Sonic Mania.

Create 'C:\Emulation\attract-mode\emulators\Sonic Mania.cfg' and add below text, then save. (use your own folders and filenames to match).

system               Sonic Mania

artwork    box             C:\Games\Sonic Mania\snap

artwork    cart            C:\Games\Sonic Mania\flyer
artwork    cartart         C:\Games\Sonic Mania\flyer
artwork    flyer           C:\Games\Sonic Mania\flyer
artwork    marquee         C:\Games\Sonic Mania\marquee

Use AM to then setup an emulator with the name Sonic Mania.
