General / Launching a linux native game...
« on: July 22, 2017, 07:49:54 AM »
If this is the wrong forum, please direct me to where to post it:

I am running a version of attractmode on a raspberry pi.

I want to launch xscavenger (a lode runner like game) that requires X.

Not sure how to do it...

This is more fun than looking at the manual!

It will definitely increase my familiarity. Maybe I'll even redo my magazine theme.

Thank you.

I don't believe args should read

-L snes9x_libretro.dll "[romfilename]"

Try this from your command line in the retroarch directory (assuming your retroarch is on the same drive as the game)

retroarch - L cores\fbalpha_libretro.dll ../../../attract/games/fba/1942.zip

Try going to the command prompt, and see if you can launch retroarch from the E:\ prompt

I have  attractmode in the root with a folder addons inside attractmode...
i.e. c:\attractmode\addons\retroarch

This is my emulator cfg for nes...I can move attractmode to any root drive and it works.

Hope the following helps:

___________________________
executable           addons/retroarch/retroarch
args                 -L cores\nestopia_libretro.dll "[romfilename]"
rompath              ..\..\..\attractmode\addons\nes\roms\
romext               .zip;.nes
system               Nintendo;NES;Famicom
info_source          thegamesdb.net
artwork    flyer           ../../attractmode/scraper/nes/flyer
artwork    marquee         ../../attractmode/scraper/nes/marquee
artwork    snap            ../../attractmode/scraper/nes/snap
artwork    wheel           ../../attractmode/scraper/nes/wheel

Thanks. What do you type from the command line to get your rom to run?

ie:

c:\attractmode\runprogram.exe -fullscreen game.zip

Once you know it runs from the command line, then you can get the parameters correct from within attractmode.

What is the command line you use to run via FBA?

I'd create a folder with the name of the emulator in the scraper/snaps or scrapers/boxart folder...and place images in that folder...they would display randomly.

scraper---->nestopia---->snaps----->nestopia------>donkeykong.png, diddy.png

The Amiga is beautiful (but I had the 1000). Thanks for passing this along. It's time for me to update my image.

Are there plans to incorporate the emulation station form xmls for game info and scraping?

Am I missing something?
