How to add an emulator and get videos, artwork etc
« on: January 29, 2018, 04:21:54 AM »
I downloaded the CRISP "Get a whiff of this edition" 128GB image for my Raspberry Pi/RetroPie.

I wanted to add Sony PSP as a system, it's added ok and I can launch the games, but I don't know how to get the PSP artwork/video etc to show.  I got all the PSP snap videos and wheel art etc for games, and I have a Sony PSP.mp4 video in the right place in the /opt/.../.attract folder with all the other system videos but it doesn't show in AM.

Is there a step-by-step guide to adding a new system?

Many thanks

@MoodyMa
I'm using windows (but I think it's same on RPI):
Your videofile need the same name, like your romfile (e.g. 123abc.rom => 123abc.png & 123abc.mpg).
Does it match?
AM Version : 2.6.1
Input : Mad Catz Brawlstick; Mouse; Keyboard; Xbox360 Wireless
Cabinet : Yes
OS : Windows10 Pro
System : Dell Precision T3500 ; Intel X5650 ; 12GB RAM

@MoodyMa
Here
AM contains a menu-art-folder. And there is a snap folder. Copy your videos there (in my case):
C:\attract\menu-art\snap

rename the video, depending to your emulator/system display name (in my case : zsnes3.mp4)

Start AM

This is mostly accurate but I think the video must match the "display" name in the attract.cfg. The "display" name is usually the "emulator" name but not always.

@progets
you're right with display. that's better.

=Note:
it's possible to add graphics/videos for the menu item "Exit Attract-Mode" too, if you add 'Exit Attract-Mode.mp4'
