I just had a look at Orbit theme and it is basically what you wanted.

Switch your theme to that and you are good to go.

I honestly would not expect anyone to theme this for you, it is far too basic, and from what I have seen it is far too complex for people to do skins.

I will give you my thoughts on what I have seen so far, and I have only just tried AM for the past week so 2022

1) The last update to AM was 2020, so over a year late on any updates
2) The forum is hardly used (always a bad sign)
3) You are using out dated technology, save up and upgrade Pi 4 now.
4) If you are using this in an arcade cabinet, upgrade I would not use a Pi 3 in an arcade cabinet.
5) Look for cheap PC parts or cheap computers, far better than any Pi's.

These are my honest point of view, but you don't have a theme idea, you have a theme wish. No one will theme this for you.

*** Update ***

Well I have downloaded it. A confusing mess that does not work well.

1) Sort out your file system before zipping, it needs to be more plug and play
2) Low quality graphics for some of them
3) No sound on some videos
4) Low quality videos on most
5) The menu system needs far too much work to produce graphics at a vertical level, horizontal is always better. I do not want to do a lot of graphic work or the end user does not want to keep doing graphics
6) The card system thing looked good, but did not work for me
7) The default theme never even worked, no graphics to view

It took me less time to delete it, than it did for me to download and try it.

It honestly looks a lot better in the screen shots, than it did in real life. I honestly had high hopes that I would use this, but sadly that is not the case.

Sorry for being blunt, but you need honest feedback.

*** Update Over ***

I am just downloading this now, and I will give you 100% honest feedback on what I see.

However, to start the feedback before it has even downloaded.

1) You have a lot of Japanese Manga/Anime stuff going on in the first few screenshots, that looks amazing fantastic.
1a) However, in later screen shots that seems to have gone and replaced with just a boring bland Western view.

You really need to keep the Japanese, Manga, Anime theme going all through the skin. It really catches the eye and makes it stand out.

The whole strength of what I have seen is that Japanese look. It makes it stand out from the rest.

Just to congratulate you though for creating a skin, as this does not look easy to do so, it is a shame, that the front end did not have a better skinning method.

General / Re: Collection help needed please, tearing my hair out
« on: January 06, 2022, 06:21:19 AM »
I will reply to myself, make it easier for others to follow

I have found out how to do this now

Filter Name Global
Title Contains Metal Slug|Demon Front|Dolphin Blue

You need a pipe alt 124 on your keyboard | so hold alt and then type 124

I was trying to use a semi colon ; which did not work.

PC Games, PS3 games and now collections I am rocking it today :)

If you get any dodgy results that you did not expect, I just done Pac-Man, I had a game called Driving Force (Pacman conversion)

To remove this game, add a rule saying title does not contain (conversion)|and anything else you want to remove

If you get dodgy results that do not have what genre they are, a bit of work, just go into the XML file and then edit what you need to change, and then re generate the files, and all the information you need will now be there.

Scripting / Re: is it possible to check video artwork file exist or not
« on: January 06, 2022, 04:59:08 AM »
I honestly do not have a clue, but sadly not many people seem to answer on the forum.

However, I am going to say, think about it logically you have 100,000 games as an example.

That is a lot of checking and a lot of processing power, if you have 80 systems and 100 collections as an example, that is a lot to go through.

As a non techie, I would say that this would not be worth the time or effort to try and code for it.

However, hopefully someone might be able to answer your question that wears a techie hat. I just see something does not have a video, and put one in.

General / Collection help needed please, tearing my hair out
« on: January 06, 2022, 03:19:57 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Thanks for any help given. I have been testing AM for the past couple of days now, and starting to love it. I have just set up PC games and also PS3 so pretty much, the front end does everything that I want apart from the following.

Setting up a collection

1) I have gone to display and created a new display called Metal Slug Collection
2) I have generated Atomiswave & MAME together and called that All Games

My display is set up as follows

Collection/Rom List = All Games
Show in cycle/menu = yes
Global filter is empty (I have populated that before)
Filter Metal Slug = Title contains Metal Slug (I have messed around with exceptions but no joy)
Filter Demon Front = Title contains Demon Front (Same settings as above)
I have also tried with Dolphin Blue on Atomiswave but that stops Metal Slug from showing. I do not have Demon Front showing in the list

Is there anything that I am doing wrong, or is this a limitation of the front end?

The display is not creating any text file or roms list as you might expect, and I have checked the all games list and all the titles are in there.

It does show the Metal Slug games from MAME and also Atomiswave, and if I added PC games into that, I expect that it would show the PC games as well.

Any help would be much appreciated.

So what I am trying to do to to make it shorter is have a Metal Slug Collection, and then have a couple of bonus games included into that collection.

Regards

Mark

Themes / Re: NxL theme! [Release] new video!2-4-2017 Update
« on: January 03, 2022, 09:48:47 AM »
Hello All,

Firstly, apologies for the newbie questions, but I am a newbie to AM but not to emulation. I love this theme but have some questions if anyone can help me please.

1) The screen that you see in the screen shots, just above this post. I was hoping that I could have systems on that so PS3 etc
2) The skin also has another view that I like, so I would like 1) to be my system choice and to use another view for my game choice.

I have seen the skin on HS, but it does not appear to be 100% the same, and this looks a lot better, but as I am new then it is going to be a learning curve if I decide to try AM fully.

Any help would be great, thanks for any help

** Update **

I now have found out to display the systems, go to general, start up mode, show displays menu

I have also found out, well I done it once by accident, how to have it go to the layout that I want.

So looking very good, just a bit of experimenting on how things work, but so far I like it.

Themes / Re: Pandoras Box Theme
« on: September 28, 2016, 01:34:42 AM »
Hi Guys,

First post here as I am looking for a possible replacement for another front end. I absolutely love the Pandora theme from the first moment that I saw it on the jamma boards. It is very basic but it just has something sexy about it all at the same time.

I look forward to trying out Attract mode and also Pandora's theme.

Thank you for every one who makes the software and themes, so us mere mortals can feel young again.

Regards

Mark
