Looks good man. Keep it up.

As your your High-Score support. That might be more difficult than you think. Yes most high-scores are in hex..that's the problem.

However there is a program that I have seen that might help you. I don't have much knowledge of it though maybe it will help you get started? it's called HitoText http://sourceforge.net/projects/hitotext/ it's a little old as well so I don't know if it will be helpful or not. This page may help as well http://highscore.mameworld.info/tutorial.htm

Yes I did. I will double check though just to make sure that I didn't over look anything.

Xev-

Well, if I am going to have 10 or 12 wheel arts showing on the display then I am going to need coordinates for each one, right? I am essentially setting the position for each wheel art.

Umm on that note omega how difficult would it be to do a "staggered" effect. Maybe a vertical list not a "wheel" per say. Or..like "falling tiles"? Seeing the wheel art is it "blocks" well some of them anyway.

I thought you meant that. I am not sure actually. Anti-micro has worked well for me though.

That is possible but your were not clear on what you want to exit. Do you want to exit the front end (attract mode) or the emulator. I also use a game controller on my system. I use a program called anti-micro. I have the escape key mapped  to a button on my controller (it exits out of all my emulators and the front end). I can use it to mimic keyboard keys to a button on my controller (much like MAME) does. Here is the link https://github.com/Ryochan7/antimicro/releases choose the one that is right for your operating system. Some emulators don't exit the say way. though you can force them to use the esc key using this program http://lustark.com/closemul/

P.S. Your english is fine! :)

I tried that layout nut, still nothing. I also looked in the layout.mil to see if I needed to add paths. Only thing there really was the background path but it coes up no problem. The snaps and marquees load but not the control panel or the flyer.

Everything looks fine. Ok so 1941 says "1941"..but Donkey Kong shows "dkong"? That's odd..really odd..works fine for me. From the looks of it you should have no problems. Umm going out on a limb here...use a capital C on the drive letter not a lower-case c..I think XP is case sensitive. That seems weird but try it. Also try taking the ;.7z off the end on your extension. Also for your catver.ini try the complete path just to be safe. (That's how I have mine set up....)

Well hardware and Os are not a problem.

Ok could you post your attract mode mame.cfg please. I tested it myself with the version you are asking about..it worked fine..but I don't have a full set either. I lost my set of .84 years ago.

I don't know about any other graphics software but I would assume same the same thing for all of them... I know gimp will give the the co-ordinates I need right there on the bottom information bar...I can't do math either :P

cools is right xev1n I make all my layouts as large as I can get them but I normally run 800x600. Everything looks fine everytime. This keeps people from having to do the same layout 5 times.

They changed how the listxml in mame somewhere around that time. First I am going to assume you are on Windows? It would be nice to know all that so we can better help you. What version Of Windows are you using? How much RAM and CPU? I have and old PC myself I made into a cocktail table. When I made it Attract mode wasn't out yet. I am still using MALA (and old version) it a 400Mhz with 128MB ram on Windows 98 and i can run mame 1.08.

True..never thought of that..the side bar would be the bottom bar in kde or lxde I guess huh? My oversight..leave it to me to make it complicated...besides..he asked how to hide the side bar..not how to start it automatically..that was the other thread...I'll get it together someday..lol

I started this thread and I have been dragging my 8-bit pixel butt..sorry  ::) I looked in the mil file on this on too. Can't get the flyer and the control panel to show up..I checked my paths and the ones in the display settings. The lay out is called 'mameroom'
