General / Losing focus after pressing H (History)
« on: May 27, 2021, 10:23:53 AM »
Hello,
i enabled History plugin, i noted that if i press H in order to display history and then i press H again, ONLY THE FIRST TIME Attract Mode loses focus and i need to press ENTER in order to gain focus again.
Then all the followings times i use history functionality i have not focus issue anymore.

Are you able to reproduce this ? I have AM in fillscreen mode, but i tried fullscreen and also Wndows 7 compatibility etc etc

Firstly, thanks for all this hardwork!

I have a question regarding Naomi 2 , i see that wheel layout videos etc etc are missing for this "system" , is not a problem for me listing Naomi 1 and Naomi 2 under the same system, but i want to be sure about that.
I also "edited" wheels , cabinets adding "2" , no problem i can copy and paste Naomi system in order to have a dedicated layout.

Last question, is there a tool able to change the same settings for all layout listed at once ? Usually i turn off video sound, wheel sound etc etc.

Thanks

Ok so it's layout dependent, you can create and recall them from layout's code. Good!

Regarding variable to use, do you think that it's feasible what i need ?

General / Variables to use under default-emulator.cfg
« on: May 18, 2021, 02:55:19 AM »
Hello,
i would like to know what kind of variables i can use with default-emulator.cfg , i see there is [emulator] but in my case i would like to use something like [system]

[system] = system identifier

Under menu-art i usually put the name of the system "Nintendo Nes" "Sega Naomi" "Sammy Atomiswave" and so on
For roms the same, in order to have just one folder per system, games/Sega Naomi games/Nintendo Nes and so

Example :

If i add 2 emulators (Nestopia and Punes) for Nintendo and 2 emulators for Sega Naomi (Demul and Retroarch) i need to use something like [system] variables in order to use just one folder.

args                 "[romfilename]"
rompath              games/[system]
romext               .zip
artwork    flyer           menu-art/[system]/flyer
artwork    marquee         menu-art/[system]/marquee
artwork    snap            menu-art/[system]/snap
artwork    wheel           menu-art/[system]/wheel

I don't know if it's feasible.

Futhermore , i would need a full documentation about all the voices i can use on attract mode, in order to avoid to continuously bother you.
Regarding artwork i read somewhere there is "cartart" values... but by default i don't have this voice.

Thanks, it works. I hadn't read enough the tutorial and i missed this "tag" feature. Filtering seems complicated at once, but when you understand how it works is very powerful.

One question , i called Namco11 the tagging group , the file is Namco11.tag under mame folder. If i put EQUALS Namco11 i can't show anything if i put CONTAINS it works. Shouldn't also work EQUALS ?

General / Switch Collection/Rom List

Hello,
is there a way to easily select inside a system (for example Mame) the desidered Collection/Rom List ?

I set up mame and i have all the games listed inside Mame.txt , with filter option i cannot select all the games with this driver value "namcos11.cpp; , but with other tools i'm able to do this and i created a new list (Namco11.txt) but i would like to select this inside "mame" enviroment.

The only solution i found is creating a new display mode called Namco 11 and assigning that playlist. Is the only way to do what i need ?
