Although I'm content with my LED buttons being always on for now, I thank you very much for sharing this with your fellow Linux users.  :)

Hi, you could look at the code of similar themes like Nevato.

Apart from that, it would help potential helpers to look at your code. Could you post the respective lines here in code tags (the "#" button of the forum editor) or post the whole code somewhere, e.g. on Githup or one of the several Pastebin services?

Yes, I know that you have automatically generated videos and others by default .
I have a video that I made and I want to put it in a loop.
If not, a series of images that rotate.
Nevato uses the the fe.add_artwork() function to show the images and videos from the snaps and videosnaps folders that are configured for the emulator in Attract-Mode. You can show other images or videos with the fe.add_image() function.

Apart from the layout documentation which I linked to above, the best way to understand this may be to look into Nevato's layout.nut and see how these functions are being used.

Alas, I don't know if and how you can add a rotating series of images. If you find another layout that does that, you could look into its layout.nut to see how this can be achieved.

add: selecting "game boy color emulator" the image displayed is a game boy classic ¿how can i fix it?

As I said above, what Nevato shows depends solely on the contents of the snaps and video snaps directories you configured for the resp. emulator. Did you check that?

Hi VonViVant,
Nevato already shows video snaps and images, do you mean those? If not, what other videos and images do you mean?

No problem, you couldn't know about the history of it.  :)

As you can read in the thread I linked to, legally it should be okay since the original theme is said to have been released under a free license, and the repo is back online. But as things are, it would still be a nice gesture to ask lipebello about a fork.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

edit: I'm Clyde in the other forum, by the way. So if you're interested, you can read there what my position about legal vs. moral is in matters like these. :) (direct link: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/post/137982)

Although I welcome your idea, because I also love this theme and wished for a 4:3 version for a long time, I have to ask if you asked the original author lipebello if he's okay with it? At least you should credit him here and in your repo, and maybe link to the original theme at https://github.com/lipebello/es-theme-retrorama.

I mention this because nearly a year ago, the widespread misuse of his work, sometimes even with his name removed from it, angered him so much that he removed his work from Github and swore never to make any of his work public again. Only the immense encouragement from his fans got him back on track. You can read his statement and the following pleas from his fans in the Retropie forum:

https://retropie.org.uk/forum/post/131800 (post by lipebello on 10 Feb 2018, 14:27)

So, it may be advisible to contact him about your project, lest we may lose him again, probably for good this time.

That said, I wish you the best and that lipebello is okay with your fork of his great theme.

(edit: just a typo)

Once I have worked through all the systems (some 50% remaining) I'll make sure to create videos containing the best each system has to offer and share it here.

That would be great! :D

I asked Santa an 8bitdo controller but I got a much needed new pair of gloves instead :D

Don't fret, you wouldn't be able to use the controller with gloves anyway. ;)

Same to (all of) you!

I "gave" two AimTrak lightguns as Christmas gifts to myself, and now I have to get my first joystick back to /dev/input/event0 so that Daphne will recognize it again.  :P

As far as I researched on the web yesterday, the Linux port of Daphne will only accept input from event0, and my event order changed because of the two new AimTrak usb devices in the sytem. Strangely, since then, however I plug them in my Pac-Drive LED controller will put itself before my joysticks in the event order.  ??? I may have to dive into the ancient martial art of udev rules …

But I shouldn't spend too much time on that this morning, because in mere 3.5 hours some friends will come over for "breakfast" at 13:00h.  ;)

As a great fan of shoot em ups I really loved the PC Engine back then, even if I never owned one. I remember Coryoon as one of the cutest shooters out there :D

Ah, it's from Naxat Software. The creators of the best console pinball games, Alien Crush, Devil's Crush (jap. Devil Crash), and Jaki Crush.

As for more smups, the Neo Geo also had quite a few very good ones:
