Title: Instant Sheller + Attract Mode

When i try to invoke attract mode using instant sheller it says that language files cannot be load but when i manually try to start it everything works just fine.

Any suggestions?

silentlaunch is ok when launched alone, but attract is not, as it's saying no .cfg found.

any clue to launch attract and other stuff in background directly without explorer.exe (under xp ?)

either
- call a batch
- call attract.exe --config "writedownyourconfig.cfg"
- add attract to %PATH

This works for me (tested on XP, Win7):

01 ) download instant sheller (http://www.gameex.com/download/instantsheller.zip)

02 ) download .net-framework 1.1 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=26) and 2.0 (http://www.chip.de/downloads/Microsoft-.NET-Framework-2.0_18033068.html)

03 ) install everything

04 ) create an extra and seperate windows-account

05 ) logon with this account

06 ) set this account to autologin (in registry by regedit.exe):
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon => AutoAdminLogon => 1
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon => DefaultUserName => your_created_windows_account
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon => DefaultPassword => your_password_(if_set)

07 ) start InstantSheller.exe (set attract.exe as Shell to Execute, BootScreen and so on) > I am ready! Do it!

AT THIS TIME DO NOT RESTART WINDOWS

if you restart Windows & AM is automatically started:
AM won't found any existing files (like attract.cfg), because at this time Windows is looking for AM files under:
WinXP : c:\document and settings\your_windows_account
Win7 : c:\windows\SysWOW64

If AM-Files not existing (like attract.cfg and so on), AM is thinking you start AM the first time an inizialize.
AM creates there the standard folders and files and so on.

08 ) open registry by regedit.exe

look for someting like this:
hkey_users\s-1-5-21-123456789-123456789-123456789-500\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon)

edit entry 'shell' from:
(http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180227/b8rvhuhx.gif)

to (depending of your path; note quotation marks):
(http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180227/2snrjesd.gif)

09 ) Restart windows

NOTE:
If you want to stop Instant Sheller/make changes on windows > ctrl + alt + del > task manager > new task > explorer > make your settings

NOTE:
finding mouse cursor again, set location by pressing ctrl button (https://dt.azadicdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/2010-01-24_185953.png?9423)

NOTE:
installing net framework 2.0 on Win10, you need to install net framwork 3.5 (contains 2.0). If you can not install 3.5, use offline installation by dism command. Here (https://winaero.com/blog/offline-install-of-net-framework-3-5-in-windows-10-using-dism/)

Post by: xbs on July 31, 2016, 03:27:44 AM: I had instant sheller working just fine on XP but now all of a sudden it doesn't boot am anymore!?

Everything works, replace boot screen, hide mouse arrow, etc, except starting am... it gets stuck on a black screen.
Is there a log or something I could look for?
