Stuck at first screen

Hi

Just wanted to give AM a shot, Im on Windows 10 64, tried both 32 & 64 bit versions of AM, same result, stuck at first screen (language selection).
Well, after I exit AM (with Alt+F4) and relaunch it, i then can get to the main screen, but still stuck there, nothing moves, keys or joystick dont do anything...
Any idea, requirements that may be missing (some framework or something)

Which version of AM (latest is 1.6.0)?
You have to config AM (or it shows only a black screen).
Press TAB and config an emulator system.
AM Version : 2.6.1
Input : Mad Catz Brawlstick; Mouse; Keyboard; Xbox360 Wireless
Cabinet : Yes
OS : Windows10 Pro
System : Dell Precision T3500 ; Intel X5650 ; 12GB RAM

Thx for your reply. As I said, AM doesn't react to anything including tab.
I cannot even set the language at first screen.
Tried with latest stable, and latest 1.6.0.9

However being windows 10 I have no idea...that may be your problem.

The other thing I must ask you say that it brings up a language selection? Well it is working correctly at that point. What happens after you make a selection of a language? A black screen? That is normal.

From what you say though you can't even pick a language..is am frozen on the language selection screen?...or can you pick a language and then the screen is black?

So I must ask...if you select a language what happens? You said the TAB key does not respond and you force close..can you restart AM..does it crash when you do? Any messages from the command window would be helpful here. (That is the command line.)

Hi, indeed I cannot even select a language. At first run it shows me the language selection screen, only thing i can do is closing the thing with alt+f4. If I do this AM creates its "attract.cfg" file, in which the language is set to english.
Then when I run it again it takes me to the main menu (but i still cannot do anything there, in other words, there is no way to move the blue highlighting thing)

Well, I'm not sure, that AM is 100% compatible with Win10.
Did you try latest AM version 1.6.0 ?
Delete AM folder, unzip AM and start attract.exe. When stops, press Alt+TAB (so you see a batch window). Please tell us the messages or take a screenshot.
Try to start AM on another system (e.g. Windows7) and copy the whole folder to Win10

The console just says that the cfg file hasnt been found, and that it creates it.
As I said, this is on 1.6.0 and also latest nightly (just tried 1.6.0.23).
I cannot start on another system, only W10 around me.

=> but you tried it already.

What's about older release 1.5.3?

Tried 1.5.3, same thing (i was able to move the highlight once though, then it stopped working :))

Hmm, strange.  I wonder if anyone else has tried on windows 10?

If you right click on attract.exe, isn't there a way on windows to set programs to run in "compatability mode" or some such setting (sorry I don't have windows handy).  Could you try some of those settings to see if it fixes things for you?
