Maybe you've wanted tv to be that way - but it looks too grey-ish and faded to me.

The trick is - the scanlines can't be too dense. You can't use scanlines that are designed for shader overlay - because you'll be getting too dark or too pale image. This is because your snap preview is relatively small.

Belive me - I've spent couple of hours of experimenting to come to that conclusion. :)

- my scanlines fit to zelda size without any cropping

I'm attaching my overlay png also - this is the same as in robospin thread

Maybe the effect looks little exaggerated - but remeber, that preview image will be likely 2x smaller and it will look ok

A good logo should be "background independent". If it looks good on light and dark background as well - that it is a big bonus.
That is the case with both logos (v5 and v7) that I consider as a potential keeper.

When we settle with one version - I'll add a nice background to make it a wallpaper or splash screen.
Of course I'll upload it as a transparent .png so anyone can put it on it's own wallpaper.

I've finished working on marquee.
Not much of a difference - especially for 3 hours of testing different ideas and tweaks - but I like it.

don't have any better idea to incorporate MODE - better that adding it on a plaque or something like this.

Try that dark overlay that I've uploaded. It is darker on the edges and lighter in the center - it will give you more "in shadow" effect.
You can skip the glow one - it was not that great anyway

You could also maybe fade or use a semi-dark overlay on the ones that aren't selected, something so the focus is on the selected game but you can still see the others.

This is exactly what I've proposed in 2nd post.
Or maybe you're talking about something different than this?
