windows 10 version 1607 trouble
« on: August 10, 2016, 08:20:39 AM »
Has anyone upgraded to this version yet.  The taskbar has got some new "features" but stays on even during launch of AM, so some real estate is lost.  I can check the auto-hide on desktop option, but it seems to still take up some real estate even though its not visible.  Curious on others experiences.

I have the same problem too :( Auto hiding the taskbar is not a feasible workaround.

Having the same problem....fullscreen not working because of the task bar staying on top of everything.

Note: when launching a game, the task bar dissapears, but upon exiting the game, the task bar goes back to sitting on top of everything.  I was using RetroArch as the emulator.

use my Program. Here you can hide the taskbar or close the explorer, when Attract mode starts. My English in this program is very bad, but it works for me.

Looks like this is Windows 10 Anniversary update glitch/bug they haven't fixed yet...Here are the posts from Microsofts website.

Some other full screen front ends don't have this issue with the update, for example Kodi. So there should be a fix that can be done in attract mode. Who knows if Microsoft will even address it or considers it a bug. They may have changed something purposely and are leaving it to software developers to change their code.

Everyone in that link appears to only be having issues with fullscreen window mode rather than true fullscreen.

I have the same problem too. I hope the regular updates will fix it over time.

Using the latest nightly build of the dev version (available here: https://build.btolab.com/project/attractmode/ ) with the window mode set to "full screen mode" should fix this issue.

cheers

There is also another option that works really well on windows 10. Replace the taskbar with a free dock app called nexus. With it you can hide the windows 10 taskbar and desktop icons. You can also set the dock itself to auto-hide. Unlike the windows taskbar "even with auto-hide " it won't stay on top of fullscreen apps like attract. So, if the windows taskbar is still visible with the latest build give this app a try.

Thanks @raygun the update worked but I lost my escape key for back and my sound for up/down isn't recognized even after re-updating these in settings. But oh well I am pretty sure all will work fine on the next official release. AM is so great I love it more and more everyday! Thanks again! :)
