It saves the config as uae files

Try running this from the command prompt

What is the full path to the configuration file and what is the file named?

I have no trouble changing the wheel and boxart for certain emulators but I can't seem to find a way to edit the art on the main wheel.

For instance I've added an Amstrad emulator to attract mode and I want to edit the console image on the menu wheel.

Any ideas?

Artwork for the main wheel (known as the Displays Menu in Attract-Mode) is located in /.attract/menu-art/

Ok, fs-uae-launcher is going to be the executable that you'll use.

Run fs-uae-launcher and create a configuration file for one of your games. Name it the same as the game but with the .fs-uae file extension.

Go to the terminal and type "fs-uae-launcher <your-game-name>.fs-uae" and see if your game runs.

Yes as I can run the games through the launcher

Provide an example of how you running them through the launcher. Are you clicking on an icon on the desktop or launching from the command line? Basically you need to figure out the correct command line syntax so it can be placed in the AM emulator.cfg file.

I tried this on a couple of builds and couldn't reproduce your issue.

What's the build date on your attract binary? Are you running the latest AM?

How are you exiting AM? How are you rebooting? If you exit AM to the command line and then relaunch it do you have the issue or only after a reboot? Does this issue happen with other emulators or only Advmame? As a test, you can try to add favorites that don't start with numbers, it seems that like that is your possible breaking point.

Also check the permissions on the romlist folder.

Do you have the BIOS files installed in the correct location?

What type of files are your roms: .zip, .uae, etc.?

Post your /opt/retropie/configs/all/amiga/emulator.cfg file.

Have you manually edited the file?

Which layout are you using? I have seen issues with customized favorites menus in a few layouts.

As a test, rename your Advmame.tag file to Advmame.tag.org. Then change your display to "Basic" for Advmame. Using only the Attract-Mode graphical interface add some favorites and test. If it works, then your issue isn't with Attract-Mode itself. You can then change your display back and add some favorites and see if your problem reoccurs.
