By popular demand (!?) and hot on the heels of 2.0, we have ourselves a new release of the Attract-Mode frontend!
Version 2.1.0 freshens things up a bit and adds some new features we think are kind of cool: support for using unlimited key/button/joystick combos to trigger commands and improved menu navigation controls....
NOTE FOR UPGRADERS: If you are upgrading from a previous version, chances are you will have to redo your joystick-based control mappings.

Does the info for games (game description/story/sysnopsis whatever you call it) works now for other systems than MAME ?

I did a quick search, but what is the recommended steps to update an existing Attract Mode install?

Raygun,

I love the auto-detect and auto-download functions. I just point Attract Mode at a MAME install and - BOOM - instant arcade front end. Great work!

Same question here..
I'm still on 2.0.0 because idn what to do to upgrade! (and I'm feeling lazy to reconfigure everything from zero)

Just do a seperate install and compare your config files. Its not that hard.

Hi, how do I get the Video Decoder options on RPi3?
I have installed ffmeg with mmal according to these instructions:
https://nwgat.ninja/quick-easy-compiling-mpv-for-raspberry-pi/
and compiled latest AM from source but I still can only select software.
Kind regards
Carl

What worked for me was to build FFmpeg w/mmal on my RPi3 using the following commands :
git clone git://source.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg.git
cd ffmpeg
./configure --enable-mmal --disable-debug --enable-memalign-hack --enable-shared
make -j4
sudo make install
then build attractmode from source....

Hi Ray,
I followed your instructions regarding ffmpeg and then compiled attract from source. Weird thing is now I cant start AM. I get this error: attract: error while loading shared libraries: libavformat.so.57: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
Any ideas?
Edit: Nevermind. Found the solution here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12901706/ffmpeg-error-in-linux
I still only have the software decoder option though..
Edit 2: Nevermind again. I have the mmal option after reboot :)
