I'm a total newb and would hate to mess up this build permanently ...

So I would do this from the terminal with commands ? Does anyone no specially what I would write ?

Isn't there a word document I would edit instead ? Thanks again

When I start my retropie, I'm taken to the terminal and need to type "attract' to launch attract mode...

Where do I go and what do I have to do so that it will boot into attract mode on it's own ? or even emulation station, I'm not picky. I would just like to be able to use it without having a keyboard around...

I was in the attract mode start folder and must have messed something up, because when I boot up my PI I have to type 'attract' now to get it to launch, which is a huge pain.. Could someone please post the exact script I need inside that folder for it to auto launch please. Thank!!

This what my autostart.sh looks like, I also tried deleting everything and only having

sleep 5
attract

Neither is working, any help?? In the terminal is says

/opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh: Line 5: $`attract\r`: command not found

/opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh: Line 6: $`\r`: command not found

Can someone please post what the autostart.sh and AM-Start.sh files should read like ? I was attempting to delay the boot time by editing the files and now I can't get Attract mode to launch at startup

Sorry about being in the wrong forum, but since I've come this far. What program do you suggest for editing .NUT files. And how do I 'cut' a hole in the background ? Software or by editing a document

So I can't just switch wallpapers ? I used the original with everything in the same place but pasted some different graphics on top. The fan art still displays the cutouts of the consoles over the wallpaper, and even though the video screen is in the exact location the video doesn't appear. What would I have to edit/include in the layout.net file? Thanks

Thanks a lot! That will save me a ton of time. Since I may have your attention, How do I go about making video snaps appear on my wallpapers ? I tried editing existing wallpapers and the fanart appears but I'd like to know now to designate the screen area. Cheers

Do the display menu's have to be entered exactly in your desired order, or is there a way to shuffle them around. This has turned into a bit of a never ending journey

Themes / System wheel wallpaper?

I have a systems wheel(Displays menu) up and running, which displays both snaps and fanart when scrolling through, however my wallpaper just isn't for me. Can I simply replace the file as long as it has a white box in the image ? Will the snaps and fanart still appear ?

Also are there any good wallpapers out there I can get my hands on ? I've seen a few really sweet ones on youtube for the system select
