General / Re: Attract Mode not saving Mame input config
« Last post by KTURNER on Today at 09:29:57 AM »
Is there any update on this. This is a pretty big deal to me. I was playing one my ps2 emulator and my game saves as if it was on the console. Sure would be nice if I could open the game through attract mode and have the same results.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdZSZhLZ8qc&feature=youtu.be

It is a video that I love and I upload it to youtube because I do not remember or where I got it, nor looking for youtube I found it again.

I would like to know the origin of the video and especially where the music came from, I do not identify it with anything.

Let's see if someone gives me some information.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you describe in more detail the problem you get and maybe post a screenshot? Everything works as it should for me. Commenting out that section breaks the art load delay feature so makes no sense. Just disable art load delay in the layout options instead and it wont be used.

Edit: Sorry. Didn't see your youtube video at first. I'm not sure whats going on there. Looks as if you have changed the size of the video frame? Are you using "hp2-systems-menu" theme and the layout.nut i posted?

mrbison, try replacing the layout.nut in both folders with this one. Should fix the error message.  :)

The old one with  // , work better and stretch the video.

The new one "preserve_aspect_ratio" does not work.

background should be cropped in a way that there is no visible white/light background (if the object is on background that isn't black).

Heya Verion,

sorry I took so long to respond. So I have done most of the logos themselves, I found a much better way to make them a bit sharper.

So, you mentioned the background, would it affect anything if the console is white? like the original Gameboy or a Dreamcast?

Also, how much is this a neccesatiy? i find that you can get a better crop with more of the console in it, but it would have white? if not what other options could there be? transparent? or just darken the background myself?

also what is too light/ white?

is gray?

thanks for your time by the way, and I really appreciate this =D

Scripting / Re: System info
« Last post by qqplayer on Yesterday at 11:10:53 AM »
This should work , only tested with Commdoore 64 , you have to create all your own "case"

Code: [Select]
//info_system

::OBJECTS <- {

system_current= fe.add_text("",35,15,700,400)

}

function information_system(ttype, var, ttime)
{
    switch ( ttype )
    {
    case Transition.ToNewList:
case Transition.StartLayout:
//case Transition.ToNewSelection:
//case Transition.FromOldSelection:
    switch ( fe.list.name )
            {
case "Commodore 64":
        local display_current = fe.displays[fe.list.display_index].name;
//OBJECTS.system_current.msg = display_current;
OBJECTS.system_current.msg = display_current + ": Also known as the C64 or the CBM 64, is an 8-bit home computer introduced in January 1982 by Commodore International .It has been listed in the Guinness World Records as the highest-selling single computer model of all time. With support for multicolor sprites and a custom chip for waveform generation, the C64 could create superior visuals and audio compared to systems without such custom hardware.";
OBJECTS.system_current.charsize = 32;
        OBJECTS.system_current.align = Align.Left;
        OBJECTS.system_current.word_wrap = true;
    break;
        }
    }

}

fe.add_transition_callback("information_system" );

Replace this for the text you want to show:

Code: [Select]
": Also known as the C64 or the CBM 64, is an 8-bit home computer introduced in January 1982 by Commodore International .It has been listed in the Guinness World Records as the highest-selling single computer model of all time. With support for multicolor sprites and a custom chip for waveform generation, the C64 could create superior visuals and audio compared to systems without such custom hardware."

Looks cool.
The only thing I would love to add is the "name" of the grid items.
I mean , when you dont have an artwork it only shows the default "?" png
