Most of your .139 set would work with mame2003 or you could build a .078 set from it using the info here https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Managing-ROMs. If you're happy with mame2010 don't waste your time unless you really want to bypass the nag screens and/or want to save high score information.

When I say "No Clones" and "Clean List" I'm referring to the filters I'm using in the post above. These are an AM option using the "Filters" to sort your games in various ways.

This is what is annoying.
2003 tanks on altered beast & the goldenaxe games.
two of my favorite time wasters.
imame4all can cover altered beast but goldenaxe has issues.
2010 doesn't do high scores.
I've got mame .172 that almost runs those games on the RPI2 so maybe rpi3 will handle them but what about screen curvature?
That's why i'm using retroarch.

My only other option is forget curvature & just go with scanlines and advmame in framebuffer which seems to handle almost everything.

A shame there isn't a system wide shader for the rpi interface.

You can use the "Arcade" menu in RetroPie to mix and match roms with different emulators if that helps. That way they all live in the same directory.
Dont forget about LR-FBA-Next as its currently on a very new version, although it has less romsets - but very new.

Yes, its nice to keep it in retroarch/libretro as you can easily use overlays or shaders that can apply curvature effects.

The Arcade directory only works for versions of MAME correct?

Do you have this black screen after a fresh install on the flash card?

It is possible when you have added your HDD that it scans the drive for consistency.
This might take a while and you can see the activity led (if there is a led on the drive) is blinking.

@Floob

I am fixed the network problem. I think...  :-\ I need to make more test... but now it's better.

I'm changed the line:

iface eth0 inet manual

by

iface eth0 inet dhcp

Code: [Select]
pi@retropie:/etc/network $ cat interfaces
# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)

# Please note that this file is written to be used with dhcpcd
# For static IP, consult /etc/dhcpcd.conf and 'man dhcpcd.conf'

# Include files from /etc/network/interfaces.d:
source-directory /etc/network/interfaces.d

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet dhcp

allow-hotplug wlan0
iface wlan0 inet manual
    wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

allow-hotplug wlan1
iface wlan1 inet manual
    wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

* Edited: No... no... no... I am still having problems. I am copying 600 files from my Ubuntu to Raspi and make stops every time... it's horrible.

is use the Libretro

Perfect... it's a problem of your retroarch.cfg file.

Could you post here?

/opt/retropie/configs/[mame-version]/retroarch.cfg

or if you are using ALL version...

/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg

video_shader_enable = true

aspect_ratio_index = "20"

Ok, escape key never work for me to exit in libretro emulators but I have two keys to do that. One of then is hotkey. It's used to do special actions: Menu GUI of Retroarch, Exit emulator, Save State, etc.

Add this two lines in your retroarch.cfg to add Exit Emulator using HotKey. Then, your can change it:

input_exit_emulator = "num1"
input_enable_hotkey = "num2"

With this two lines, if you pulse 1 and 2 twice, you exit from emulator. Try it!
