Is thegamesdb.net down? I am trying to scrape for NES and SNES and having no luck.. If it is down, what is a good alternative scraper, mainly for NES and SNES?

gamesdb are in the process of upgrading how apps scrap data, most scrapers utilize gamesdb and won't be of any help. Universal XML utilizes screenscraper website so will work but its relatively complicated and requires manual inputs.
