I am having the same problem...my mame video snap files are not showing in Attract Mode. They are named the same as the roms and I've tried putting them in both /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/snap/ and /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/snap/ locations.
I am able to see the video snaps in ES, but not in Attract Mode.
Also, my other consoles (NES, SNES, etc) all are working with video snaps in AM. My only problem is MAME.
Any help is appreciated...
thanks.

I have noticed that some of the layouts are "hardcoded" for the location of media. You should beable to change the in the AM config..but no matter what you do it won't work. So yeah the default is the best to try first. Untill they come out with an afforadable
micro SD big enough you'll want to use a hard drive. If you want the max you'll need at least a two Tereabyte (2Tb) drive.
I have a spreadsheet..somewhere... with estimated numbers on it for each system. If anybody wants it let me know and I'll see if I can dig it up.
