Title: How to use multiple tagging lists?
Post by: dfuse on December 19, 2016, 12:59:41 PM
Hey guys,
I'm trying to organize my collection of roms. I have already made a list of favorites but those are still too much. I don't want to use filters, I just want multiple files that list the roms I'm interested in, just like the favorites in mame.tag. One for example for fighters, one for retro games etc. I thought I read in another post this is possible but I don't see how exactly?
Ideally I'd like to be able to switch between these lists at runtime, from within AM AND I'd like to be able to mix multiple systems (Mame and FBA).
Is this possible?

Edit: I see I can add a rule to compare Tags to something. I'm presuming favorites is a special tag, where the file has the same name as the display? So if I would add a second file with as name fighters.tag, and make a display with the name fighters, those would be my fighters favorites? There is no way to cycle between displays using only tab and the directions? Thinking about my cabinet and the limited buttons available.

The last edit I made doesn't seem to be how it works...

Progress! Found this on the forum:

Quote
Favorites are stored in <AM Directory>/romlists/<romlist name>.tag
Tags are stored in <AM Directory>/romlists/<romlist name>/<tagname>.tag

And I had to use contains instead of equals in the filter.

Now I just need to figure out how to create a display for multiple systems.

My new post here http://forum.attractmode.org/index.php?topic=1165.0 might give you some ideas.
