Title: Easy way to check installed Attract Mode version and if a newer version is avail
Post by: RussMyers on March 21, 2017, 09:49:23 AM
OK,

I have Attract Mode running on a Retropie build that someone else made (Reys128)

Is there an Easy way to check the currently installed Attract Mode version?

And also if a newer version is available to install?

Thanks,

RussMyers

When you enter options menu - [TAB] key - you should see AM version at the bottom.

Excellent. How do I check if there is a newer Attract Mode available?

Thanks,

The version number isn't exactly the best way. 2.2.1 has been out for over 2 months and there have been dozens of changes since then but no revision number bump.

You can see all the commits here https://github.com/mickelson/attract/commits/master. If your attract binary date is older than the last commit date, there are changes available if you recompile. These are mostly bug fixes but you can see there are changes as of yesterday.
