Mame is installed and configured enough to play a few games such as Donkey Kong. I'm running Ubuntu 16.04.
I installed Attract-Mode and had a blank screen for the longest time before I Googled it, found this forum, and learned to generate a ROM list.
Now the games show up, but when I press <Return>, nothing happens. I went into the configuration settings and there were several options to select the game: Return, Left Ctrl, and Joystick Button 0 (I think). So I deleted all but "Return", but still no game launch.
