So Ive searched all over but am still unable to get the Catver.ini file to work. Currently ive just made a separate emulator for each category and generated a romlist using killler no filler rom categories.

anyways ive generated the whole romlist using catver.ini and nplayers.ini, the nplayers one is working i can sort the number of players but catver just shows zero games if i put a filter on
 here is the console of the romlist generating

attached picture, this shows my filter specifications and i did try cycling through filters to refresh but it still shows 0 mazes as seen at the bottom
note: shmupmame42_64bit is the mame emulator being used, may be thats the problem?

Can you post a few lines from your Attract Mode romlist for Arcade.txt?

I'd be curious to see if your romlist has values within the Category field or not.

You could also use:

Category "contains" maze --instead of equals

ah i had not looked there, so that is where am pulls the categories from.

Thats wierd, category contains maze should display correctly.

ugh dumb mistake I see it now, I put maze instead of Maze
