Title: Player 2 Controls Not working - mapped to Player 1

I have an x-arcade DYI kit. I went through attract and MAME and mapped all the controls and verified them.  The problem is when I play a 2 player game player 2 is controlled by the player 1 joystick / buttons etc. This is on all MAME games.

My Player 2 button wasn’t working for my first week and only discovered this now. Wondering if I am missing a config setting somewhere.

X-arcade is like the ching-fu of arcades. Open up a text editor and see if the encoder is a joystick or keyboard encoder. If keyboard, take note of which controls correspond with which keys. I am not sure if x-arcade has a program to remap the firmware. Could it be mapped to mame default keys, just they swapped 1p and 2p wiring inputs?

LOL - I just realized that those old games only had a single joystick 🤦‍♂️
