Ran into a bit of a issue today. I have AM working great on my Pi3, I am only using it for Mame no other emulators.
It works perfectly fine with a small set of roms, 65 is what I sarted with so it was easier to setup and scraping.
Today I tried to upload my full rebuilt rom set which comes out to 645 files, when I rebooted it gives a blank screen after loading AM.
Pressing TAB or ESC or any other key does not show anything, but esc is working to exit AM. I can press ESC and togle down then type sudo reboot and will reboot.
So it seems to be a issue with the display when I have full rom set loaded, anyone have any idea where I can start looking to find the issue? I am sure I could go through and delete a 3-400 roms off the rebuilt set but I would rather not have to take the time to manually go throught them.

did you expand your file system?
i'm trying to think, i'm pretty sure i've had up to 300 roms on my rpi1 without issue.
I ran into issues when I forgot to expand the file system on the card & only had a few mb of free space.

Lol yes just found that was the issue, thanks for the reply. I feel so stupid for not checking that first.
So 1244 Roms now and scraping is going fine. :)

You've been a big help in getting this going for me, thank you again for all you have shared. :)
One more question for anyone that might know. On the Pi3 the only directory I can find for Layouts is /home/pi/develop/attract/config/layouts
I have tried coping a few different layouts to this directory but AM doesn't seem to see them. I did multiple reboots, even tried removing the stock layouts to see if it actually made a diference and to my suprise it didn't they were still selectable and working without even being in this directory.
Is there another location they may be installed?

Try this path Finhead:
/home/pi/.attract/layouts

Try this path Finhead:
/home/pi/.attract/layouts
That was the first thing I tried to find since that is what it's supposed to be.
Only ones listed in the home directory is
/home/pi/RetroPie
/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup
/home/pi/develop
And the only directory out of those that has attract is develop. Seems it installs differently on RetroPie and a Raspberry Pi 3?
I'm logged in as Root so I should be able to see all directories correct?
EDIT: Got it, another rookie mistake I am brand new to Linux didn't realize the . means the directory is hidden. Just had to set WinSCP to show the folder. lol
