Sorry if this is something simple I missed, I searched but could not find anything.
Is it possible to upgrade AttractMode (on Raspberry pi) to the latest version without compiling a new img?
-
No, but you could compile it yourself by following the wiki. It doesn't take that long.

Yep I compiled my last img since there wasn't one for the Rpi3 at that time. I just have it all configured now, would rather not have to start all over again if I didn't have to.

Compile latest attract mode on your current image & install it over your current version.

So I would basically do it the same as I did the first time and it will keep my settings if installed over my current configured setup? So basically the same as a upgrade just a little more work to get it done.

Just backup your attract.cfg and emulator configs in /home/pi/.attract then copy them back if anything is overwritten.
