Title: how to arrange games in list
Post by: john32303 on May 18, 2016, 01:03:22 PM
hi all

i was wondering if there was an easy way to rearrange games in the list and if i to redo it every time attract mode builds the list.  The type of problem i am having are games that are part of a series showing up out of order  because of the title.  For example, mortal kombat 1, mortal kombat 2 and it should be followed by Ultimate MK3 but that game is in the "u" section of the list.

links to tutorials or instructions would be great.

in the config menu under displays, each filter can have a sort value. When the value none is supplied, the games are sorted how they appear in the generated rom list.

To achieve your desired result,
- Set the sort to "none"
- Open the romlist file under ./attractmode/romlists and manually cut and paste UMK3 under the other MKs.

I do it manually, in the txt file from the romlist dir. Then again, my romlist has only 200 roms at most...  I could probably whip up a tool in VB.net to make sorting it easier... Does anyone have a simple list of mame rom names vs full names? Thanks!
