General / Re: Running attractmode in fullscreen on Ubuntu?
« on: July 06, 2017, 04:35:17 AM »
I've tried to Fullscreen option under General. But to no avail.

If I understand the linked thread correctly, I need to install another window manager (openbox) and then configure it as described? Sounds doable, but it still seems like the fullscreen option _should_ work?

General / Running attractmode in fullscreen on Ubuntu?
« on: July 02, 2017, 05:55:03 AM »
Hi!

I tried searching but couldn't really find a good answer.
Is it possible to get AttractMode running in fullscreen mode under Ubuntu?

I've installed it via Retropie and start it with the attract command.
I've set the sidebar to autohide and that somewhat helps. But the top menu bar is still always visible.

Is it possible to run in true fullscreen mode?

General / Video playback performance on Windows?
« on: January 28, 2017, 02:17:46 AM »
Hi,

I'm using Attract Mode on a NUC (Skylake i5) and I think that the playback of videos inside Attract Mode stutters from time to time.
Is there a way to improve performance of video playback? I see that the "Video Decoder" option is set top Software, with no way to change it. Am I missing a driver or codec?

BR,
Martin

Any idea why this is happening? For me videos play perfectly sometimes and crashes the pi the next time. Seems strange to me... :/

What size are your videos? They need to be lower rez 240P or less and MP4, you can disable the screensaver and you shouldn't have any issues. I have tried all the versions on my Rpi3 and they all have some issues, I complied my own image on 3.6. Which for me works better but I don't have any of the extras Floob adds into his image as I wouldn't use them.

My videos are all 240p. Some of my vidoes are .flv, but the freeze happens when playing the .mp4 files :/ I guess I can try using only mp4-files...

I've also had AM freeze for me several times. Seems videos stop playing first (or only playing a few sec and then freezing). I had the same problem with 0.3, but I've yet to try 0.2

I'm using a rpi3 with no external hdd btw. Will look for the overheating "rectangle". At what temperature is that shown?

Is it possible to display the game name instead of a [?] image, when wheelart is missing?
