General / Attract mode exit screen upon exiting advanced mame emulator

Could someone explain why this may be happening, whenever i exit a game from advanced mame 1.4, the emulator exits, but also attract mode tries to exit, without even pressing escape?  Other times the same game that was just exited will be launched 

Also noticed the attract mode wheel will move a few spots to next game below..

One instance i was actually kicked out to the command prompt...

Are these bugs known or is there something.


I have attached small video of me exiting advanced mame emulator and the exit attract mode screen popping up.

So this problem occurs only when i set a exit hot key in the attract mode emulator menu???

i.e.

exit_hotkey          Backspace



So seems this is a bug.  Now i have to use hotkey feature in retroarch to exit emulator.

Current retropie version is 3.7 for what is used in attract mode images, is there a updated 4.02 or 4.03 retropie image?  Runcommand options are not available otherwise.

Just figured out answer to my own question, set exit command to 'sudo poweroff'

Noitced there is a shutdown selection in the 'scripts' display in attract mode gui.  Now when I install the RPI2 into my arcade cabinet I will be deleting the scripts page to only have emulator options to select.

Is is possible to make everything read only, so that you can power down but actually killing the power, such as would happen in a arcade machine, one switch takes everything out.


How does everyone power down attract mode?

So when i load ADVMAME and FBA games in attract mode the games load, but attract mode front end shows instead of game?

Sega Genesis does not do this?

I have installed v.4 image on my sd card and did not change any config settings.

Why would the front end do this?
