General / Re: How do I generate a romlist names for FBNEO (Final Burn Neo)
« on: February 15, 2022, 04:04:19 PM »
hey Just wanted to update. So it took a little recon on my end, basically I ran CLRMAME on my FBN romset and then changed the FBN dat to be an XML after my check was done.

The XML was input as an additional resource, so basically the same as before.
And in doing so, I had the same results.

I was, however; mistaken on the issue. My roms weren't unnamed, they were appearing twice. Once with the appropriate name, and once with the rom name.

I simply went into the romlist file and manually deleted the duplicate entries and this is what resolved the issue. Not sure if that's the intended functionality but its all in order now

Hey Mark, thank you!

Do you have a resource guide I can follow to read about the tools? There is alot here and I'm not sure where to start...

General / How do I generate a romlist names for FBNEO (Final Burn Neo)

I recently imported the latest arcade Final Burn Neo romset. I have already checked them with CLR Mame pro using the appropriate dat from their repository (https://github.com/libretro/FBNeo/tree/master/dats).

Initially, I used the Gamelist.xml option and it did correctly name many roms (1884/3733 ), but it appears all naming conventions in FBN are not the same as mame, and so many roms were left with their original file names.

Next, I tried to direct additional files to my dat file which did not work, likely because that file-type is not supported. Renaming the dat to a XML brought similar results to using list XML, where 1884/3733 roms were named.
Maybe I am overlooking something, or doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help!
