Sure! I thought it was just a case of giving the originals, no problem at all!

Ah ok, thanks for the reply

Hey Verion, did you ever came around to making these in a high res version?
The 'arcade' one would fit my cabinet perfectly ;) I already chose the cabinets colors based upon the cabinet in your awesome nevator theme.

General / Re: How to add an emulator in AM?

Haven't done it myself so far but it seems all you need to do is add a cfg file in the emulators directory in your AM directory.

Ah ok. Luckily my cpu can handle it. When a game starts the cpu usage also drops back to 0 so no problem there.

As these things go, you can search for hours, post a message and find the solution 10 minutes later. I noticed in the logs something about  not being able to initialize audio. I unplugged the headset that was inserted (Intel NUC) which makes Windows not see any sound output devices. Loading a video probably searches for an audio device for a few seconds and then times out. Inserting the headphones again solved the problem.
And it seems the high cpu usage is 'normal' when playing videos. Although playing the same video in VideoLAN only takes 4% cpu...

Hey guys,

I suddenly have this problem where loading a video preview takes a few seconds (using the nevato theme but also in other themes) and my cpu usage is constantly at 40-50%, also after the video is loaded and playing. Basically as soon as I add the video preview folder to my mame config in AM, cpu usage rises and the ui performs sluggish. Funny thing is this seemingly happened suddenly, didn't have this problem yesterday or before. To my knowledge nothing changed on my machine (Windows10).

Any ideas?

Progress! Found this on the forum:

Quote
Favorites are stored in <AM Directory>/romlists/<romlist name>.tag
Tags are stored in <AM Directory>/romlists/<romlist name>/<tagname>.tag

And I had to use contains instead of equals in the filter.

Now I just need to figure out how to create a display for multiple systems.

The last edit I made doesn't seem to be how it works...

General / How to use multiple tagging lists?
« on: December 19, 2016, 12:59:41 PM »
Hey guys,
I'm trying to organize my collection of roms. I have already made a list of favorites but those are still too much. I don't want to use filters, I just want multiple files that list the roms I'm interested in, just like the favorites in mame.tag. One for example for fighters, one for retro games etc. I thought I read in another post this is possible but I don't see how exactly?
Ideally I'd like to be able to switch between these lists at runtime, from within AM AND I'd like to be able to mix multiple systems (Mame and FBA).
Is this possible?

Edit: I see I can add a rule to compare Tags to something. I'm presuming favorites is a special tag, where the file has the same name as the display? So if I would add a second file with as name fighters.tag, and make a display with the name fighters, those would be my fighters favorites? There is no way to cycle between displays using only tab and the directions? Thinking about my cabinet and the limited buttons available.

Thanks for the reply! Didn't think of configuring it in MAME itself..
Also, thanks a lot for the wonderful theme.

In attachement the adjusted layout.nut file for 21x9 support. I don't have monitors with the other aspect ratios so I couldn't regression test, however I'm pretty certain my changes didn't impact the code for the other ratios.

2 other questions I have:
  • When no wheel art is found a generic image is shown, a cabinet in my case. It's not possible to render the game's name in the lcd font instead?
  • Is it not possible to provide fallback paths for the art, just like in AM itself? For example when I have no flyer for the background I prefer a snap being shown.

Edit: I have read the answer to question 1 somewhere on the previous pages. I will have to men up :) Need to start the daunting task of filtering through all my roms for the games I want to keep.

Apparently it is, unfortunately windows doesn't let me keep my 'unoptimal' resolution changes for more then a few seconds.

Something to do with my 21:9 resolution perhaps? I'm testing my setup on my ultrawide monitor, 16:9 monitor is still on the way. Attract Mode is running windowed though.
